On a serious note, if I were them, I'd go back to USL and be named the University of Southern Louisiana. Works well, IMO.

I agree. University of Southern Louisiana doesn't have the local and directional ring to it that their current name has. It's like Coastal Carolina vs. University of South Carolina at Beaufort. Coastal Carolina sounds much more legit.

When you say Red's, I think of the 30ish women who drop the kids off at Cathedral in their little tennis tu-tu's, then go to Reds in the Range Rover - in full make up and try not to perspire. Then go lunch at Zeas with the ladies, then go shopping at Fresh Market, then go home and bitch about what a rough day they had. Sound familiar?

So I get why ULL drops the extra "L" in print media. They have to save the ink to print all the Ls on their various team schedule results.
