According to this picture of the LSU 1935 National Championship Basketball Team, we were "LOUISIANA" before the institute of learning in Lafayette.

I'm not an expert on what makes one a sidewalk/walmart fan. I know a lot of Greenie graduates who tailgate LSU games and are great fun and I wouldn't call them sidewalk fans.
I guess it all depends on why you didn't go to LSU, if you couldn't get in, you might be a sidewalk fan. If you went elsewhere for other reasons, you might be legit.
IDK, get someone smarter to explain the distinction.

My dad died my junior year of HS, so I went to Nicholls to stay at home with my mom. Does that count?

I think you're alright.

Lulz, the ALUMNI fans are friendly as hell.
Fixed. The walmart/sidewalk LSU fans are bad...
I think that's any fan base. My UT relatives in Houston complain a lot about their "t-shirt fans".
It should come as no surprise that the fans that have seen the inside of a LSU classroom will be a bit more laid back.
I tell all of my ULL friends at work this: "You know how you tell the difference between a LSU alum and a t-shirt fan? The t-shirt fan is the one with the giant "LSU" decal on the back of his truck/car"

Not that you should have to justify your fanhood to a random internet troll. BUT, I'd give you my stamp of approval as a non-sidewalk fan.
Unless you point your fricking speakers out at tailgates. That is the ultimate sidewalk alum move.

Even the Sugar Bowl in 1968 recognized us as "Louisiana" as that is what they had in our endzone in the old Tulane Stadium. We beat #5 and undefeated Wyoming that day.
Picture quality isn't great, but it's enough to figure out that the end zone says "Louisiana."

Is LSU A&M suppose to be some sort of weak arse insult? Hahahaha

Are you talking about my nephew? Can't spell LSU, but lives and dies through the LSU football season.

This is probably true.. The problem is that of the 300,000 or so tiggger fans tail gaiting at football games, the vast majority are the Walmart/sidewalk versions....And when they begin throwing bottles at team buses where are the "real" fans? Laughing and cheering....
My daughter went to grad school with a young lady who played in the Auburn band... Said the ONLY place that she was actually physically scared was.... Bama? No... Florida? No... Shall I continue or can you guess

Yes! And there are too many of those. Even some of my LSU friends complain about it.

I saw it go down in 05 tenn game. Vols did stir it up after the game was over though. Planted the block T flag in the eye and posed for pictures and shite. No link, just first hand knowledge.

Yep, he's one of many, especially around Lafayette. I know where these ULL fans are coming from. These guys that actually went to college at ULL get heckled by t-shirt fans with no academic connection to LSU.
