Just read that, not gonna lie, that's fricked up.

I can't see how anyone thinks that a 5-year old post of the guy holding up an LSU shirt in a store somehow impacts the game on Saturday. Is that all they have? That's pathetic that they are trying to allege the game is tainted in some way.

If they truly believe that the refs were biased against TN, then what specific plays can they point to showing that bias impacted the game? Smart was clearly fouled not by one but two TN guys, putting him on the line for the game-winning FTs.

If they want to argue that unbiased refs don't call fouls like that at that point in time, then tell me which fouls and which calls are they supposed to ignore at the end of games because we just heard how UK got "robbed" because the referees didn't call basket interference on LSU (they also didn't call over the back and defensive basket interference on UK, so the common denominator appears to be if LSU wins a close, hard-fought game then it must have cheated).

As an LSU fan, I don't have a problem with that. I'd love to see an accounting of the missed calls in the LSU-UT game, because it certainly didn't feel like we got a ton of questionable calls.

No, I don't think so either. It's all about optics for me. There can't even be a reason to suspect bias IMO for a referee.

It's not that he was biased in any way. it's that you just can't have any official with personal biases for one of the teams to have any part of that game.

Yeah I don’t know what is controversial about the final foul. He basically ran straight into our guy

Could someone please point out the bad calls from this game that are causing the melt? I'm confused! I had other obligations so I only watched the last minutes of regulation and watched overtime, but I didn't recognize any blatantly blown calls that favored LSU. Maybe there were earlier missed calls that I missed?

If the melt is on account of the foul on Smart with .6 seconds, they took a dumb 3 pointer, and their best player ran through Smart after Smart possessed the deflected rebound. It was unfortunate for Williams from Tennessee as it was somewhat of a loose ball that Smart snagged, but his timing was bad. He fouled Smart and there's really no arguing it.

Is there another play that Tennessee is complaining about?

He and Pat Adams officiated in the Baton Rouge H\oih School Association in the late 90's. I do not know if they are from here but I do know that. They were here quite awhile. I am wondering why they get so many LSU games.

Not that I can think of. The officiating was especially inconsistent in this game I believe. There was a play late in the game where Mays clearly fouled someone with no call and another where Mays took a 3 pointer and got elbowed in the head, no call. It didn't seem to be weighted one way or the other to me.

Fwiw, I lived in Green Hills for ten years, and the immediate impression you get by listening to WLAC and WWTN, is that Tennessee fans and Tennessee athletics, are the most aggrieved fan base on the planet. Everything is a crime against humanity when Tennessee is perceived to be screwed over. Which is 95% of the time.

You just gave me a flashback to 2001 SECCG in Atlanta at which I was in attendance.

That day was facking awesome. Thanks bro!!

If a referee, who had just reffed an overtime LSU-Bama football game that LSU lost, had posted on Facebook four years ago holding a Bama shirt saying “Roll Tide” this board would legitimately have a go fund me campaign to hire an arsonist to burn down the SEC offices

Untrue. We have been screwed so many times by bad calls against Bama and no one ever started a go fund me page to hire an arsonist. All we do is bitch and moan while the SEC and Bama laughs.

Zero fricks given about this, especially since there were no controversial calls other than the no call when Mays was fouled shooting the three.

Edited to add: Rick Barnes is a pussy.

TRANSCRIPT OF RICK BARNES CALL TO SEC OFFICES REGARDING LOSS TO LSU (It isn't about the picture).

BARNES: The referee called a foul on us with .6 seconds to go in the game. The ref was holding up an LSU shirt in an unrelated picture!!

SEC: Well Mr Barnes did the UT player commit the foul with .6 seconds left?

BARNES: Well yes but....

SEC: So Mr. Barnes you are complaining about what exactly?

BARNES: Well We lost the game as a result of that call.

SEC: So UT lost the game to LSU as a result of a legitimate foul called on UT player?

BARNES: Well yes but there was almost no time left and he called the foul on US!!

SEC: Mr Barnes are fouls called within the last few seconds legitimate calls?

BARNES: Well yeah but...

SEC: Thank you for your call Mr Barnes.

CLICK

BARNES: Hello....Hellooo.....

This isnt even controversial. The foul is clear as day, he literally almost head butted Smart. This is seriously reaching on Tennessee end.

More attention needs to be given to the no call on the Mays 3. That was a major foul and everybody acted like it didnt even happen. That would have won us the game.

Absolutely. The more egregious thing would have been a no call. LSU fans would have been livid and rightfully so.

Exactly. They can say there was almost no time left when the foul took place. Yet, UT got off a shot that would have counted in that last .6 seconds. Soooo, why shouldn't the foul count?

Barnes is a whiner.

If Rick Barnes wanted honest officiating he should have never gotten canned from Texas.

Who gives a bakers f$&k. They also claimed Kyle Alexander had 5 fouls and that Anthony called all 5 on him. Haha he only had 2 fouls. I live in Tennessee and they are the biggest cry baby fan base ever. Witch Hunt University.
