Don't know if he's been mentioned, but my vote is for David Reeves. What he's done with that D at UAB after them not even having football just 4 years ago is amazing. And he's a LB guy like Aranda was.

Kris Richard was instrumental to the formation of the Legion of Boom defensive secondary. He helped coach and develop players such as Richard Sherman, Earl Thomas, Kam Chancellor, Brandon Browner, Byron Maxwell and for his rookie season only, Shaquill Griffin

Kris Richard was just let go by the Dallas Cowboys. He has ties to Pete Carroll, and so does Coach O. Pete Carroll's defenses have always been stout at USC and in the NFL. Plus let the Cowboys pay some of his salary while he's at LSU.

His contract was not renewed. Dallas owes him no money.

Thank you. The Rant’s love for the 4-3 and wanting 300lbs DE is proving half these posters know very little about football.

Are you suggesting that a 300+ pound Glen Logan isn't going to be screaming off the edge?

No to Bo. He aggravated the hell out of me with his pass poor approach

Big decisions ahead for Coach O.

Gators would be so happy if we bought out Grantham. 3rd and Grantham is funnier on the internets than 3rd and Chavis. Emotional blitzes when a quarterback is swallowing you.
I think LSU fans would be happy to send the house on standard passing downs and it would be an interesting balance compared to Aranda’s bend-don’t-break protocol. I, personally, will not enjoy being the laughing stock of the SEC Rant for removing the Gator’s tumor.
Love the Bo Pellini suggestions.
All in for whoever Dacoacho wants - he’s a defensive man, he knows who he wants.

Exactly. Plus having those guys try to set the edge on runs. The best defensive mind in the history of football is a guy named Bill that coaches the Patriots. He bases out of an odd front.

Kris Richard was the Seattle Seahawks defensive coordinator for three seasons after spending five seasons coaching defensive backs.

Geez, with some of the names thrown around from the past, all that is needed is a disco ball. Of the well known names, I do like Leonhard from Wisconsin and Grantham from Florida. Not sure how available those are. From the less known names which I don't think have been mentioned but seem to have done fine jobs:

Scott Hazelton - DC Kansas State
Jay Bateman - co DC N Carolina (who BTW gave up FEWER points to Clemson than LSU did)
Bryan Brown - DC Louisville

Wow. I completely overlooked that I guess.

I wonder why Seattle moved on from him.
