Chicken said so. No need for me to confirm. Should have an answer sooner than later. They are still hashing out some stuff, but it would not surprise me in the least if Bo Pelini is the next DC at LSU.

he has the credentials that is for damn sure and not even in question. he would get a fat raise and win a natty here again. him and O personalty could be a powder keg though.

Pelini had accepted the Nebraska job before the ,07 NC game was played. However, Osbourne still allowed Pelini to coach in it.

I don't like the idea of Pelini.
Yes, I know he's been here and had success and he did well at a garbage Nebraska and yadda yadda yadda...
Just doesn't fit the "high profile, homerun hire" billing like I would expect from an LSU staff that just bowled easily over all of CFB on their way to claim a national championship.
Seems like a very bland, meh hire if Pelini is the guy. And reportedly dislikes recruiting. May offer us more than one year of service which is a plus, but will the guy be aggressive enough on defense and run an attack style to compliment our offense?
I trust O if O says Pelini is who he wants, but I just won't be impressed until Pelini shows that he's still got it and fields a nasty defense. As good as the defense was at the end of the season, they'll need to be that good and even more aggressive this season with the attrition we've had.
I would have only offered Pelini if about 3 or 4 other candidates had already refused huge offers. Maybe that's what happened...
