Why is it a suprise that ESPN matches lsumatts list?
Its finite data being used. You just have to add up the computer rankings and the human rankings and apply the BCS formula for them. If ESPN were different that would be more of a shock.

Well since his came out BEFORE ESPN's did, this statement makes you look like an a-hole.

It does surprise me that ESPN still makes a big deal out of the rankings like there's a big mystery to them.
The formula is much simpler since USC got left out due to SOS. It's simply no longer hard to project what the rankings will be from week to week. Now projecting out the final poll is the fun game, projections would look identical what you think the polls would look like and they would be correct because the polls make up a majority (66.67%) and the computers basically correct gross errors by pollsters.

I'm not a statistician, but it would seem from several of your posts that you are saying that the computers don't really matter because they are only 1/3 of the equation. Is that what you were trying to convey?

Sorry. Don't see how BSU and TCU figure into the top 10. They really do not have to qualify by getting through a regular season of at least 3-4 top flight opponents...

Hey White Tiger...does this quote look familiar???
"Alabama, Arky, Auburn, UF, Ole Piss, West Va. Write it down."

Thanks Matt, that is a lot of work.

Boise is this highly ranked because its so early in the season. Look at past years... every week Boise (or Utah or TCU,or Hawaii)'s BCS score dropped or remained constant every week. As the season wears on, the computer and SOS points catch up with these teams.
