Yeah, and I suspect a couple teams lose next week...they always do.

Matt,

So say that Auburn does slip up against either Ole Miss or Georgia along with a loss to Bama (keeping my fingers crossed!) If we do go on to win out and beat whichever East team, despite being more than likely a 3 or 4 loss team, do you think that would be enough to leapfrog us into one of the top two spots over say an undefeated Boise, TCU or Utah or even a Michigan State (assuming Oregon goes down)

I think so. But it sort of depends on Boise (Va Tech and OSU) and TCU's (Utah and OSU) signature wins end up and a few other factors. I am pretty positive LSU has them in the computers (hell, they already almost have them). But if Boise and TCU both win out, they could create a "wedge" in the human polls making things too close to call. But I think LSU would probably go over them at 12-1.

lsumatt, is VaTech in the BCS top 25 really indicative of their strength? I thought for sure the JMU game would torpedo them, and by proxy any hope Boise State had of reaching the BCSCG.

Any way for LSU and AU to play for the BCS..??

I could see the computers finding LSU #2 if they win out and some BCS conference teams lose.

I think it is basically impossible because it would be a well known possibility if the things started falling in place and I believe voters will vote just to prevent it.

We have sniffed all the rare air that dumb luck has provided, other than the remaining "rent a win" this bunch is through.

I hope not.

Let's not be Georgia in 07.

What's wrong with being UG in 07? They won a BCS game, and to be honest with you..I'd love to watch LSU in the Sugar Bowl.

LSUMatt or anyone else knowledgable on the subject. Please educate me as to how we lose to a team ranked above us, 4th, and then drop from 6th to 12th?

I am talking about a rematch for the NC. If we can't win our division we shouldn't play for the title. And I don't want to hear people whining about it like Georgia fans were doing in 07.

Well we get unfairly piled on by the media so that's why.

If we win big the other team is not good.
If we win by a good margin we underachieved and should have won by more.
If we win a close game we were lucky.
If we lose a close game we should have actually been blown out.
If we lose solidly or bad it is proof we have the worst coaching staff in history.

I will never understand this as we have a more accomplished program then the vast majority of big programs in the country while also doing it in the SEC.

I wouldn't even restrict it to winning the division. I say if you don't win your conference, you don't go to the NC. OU should not have been in it in 2003 since they lost the Big 12 CG that year.

But I agree, even if we win out, if AU doesn't slip up and we don't win the division, then we don't deserve to participate in the BCSCG.

Now if AU does lose 2 and we win the SEC with 1 loss, heck yeah we belong in Glendale. Otherwise, I'll gladly take a BCS bowl just like in 2006 when we cleaned Notre Dame's clock in the Sugar Bowl

I can agree with all that. But the guy I was responding to asked about an LSU auburn rematch for the NC game.

Matt, Just curious what do you think Boise's chances are if every BCS school has at least 1 loss, and they are the consensus #1 in the human polls?

Just curious...praying this does not happen, but I fear that it might.

I don't buy the you have to win your own conference. Sure it worked for us in 2003.

What about this scenario...we win out (only loss vs 1 loss sec-west champ auburn on road)...aub goes unbeaten...Every other team has 2 losses...with the can't play in bcs championship make up rule we are out despite being the only team with 1 loss
