Tie Breaker is used only to decide who plays in Atlanta. Of course LSU isnt Ole Miss and isnt going to put up a flag to celebrate it.
I hope we never sink to Ole Miss level with regards to flags/banners.
If LSU and Auburn both win out and Oregon loses, then it could take only one of TCU or Boise to lose for LSU to sneak into the BCSCG. A one-loss LSU would be hard to keep out of the #3 spot in the human polls, given that one loss was on the road to the #1 ranked team by 7 points. LSU's computer scores might just be enough to jump an undefeated TCU or Boise to sneak into the BCSCG.
I realize it is unlikely as many human voters may have an aversion to voting LSU #3 ahead of a one-loss conference champion on general principle. However, there will be some time for voters to consider what they will do between the end of the regular season and the conference championship games. During that week, there will be discussions of "bodies of work", and LSU's will be hard to ignore.

LSU will never put up co-champs banners. LSU was co-champs 1 or 2 times in the 90's, I believe, but never stooped to the level of banners or claiming that shite.
It would look a little pathetic to have banners like that up next to SEC West champs banners and SEC title banners.

lsumatt,
Is there any rule that says a team cannot play for the NC if they don't win their own conference? I keep hearing this, but lets say the following happens, all be it unlikely
Oregon loses to Oregon St
Auburn loses to Bama and USCe
Boise St loses to Nevada
Stanford loses to Cal
Wisconsin loses to Michigan
Nebraska loses in Big 12 ship
Ohio St loses to Iowa
Okie st loses to Oklahoma
Wouldn't that put LSU vs TCU in the ship? I can see allof that happening except Wisconsin losing. Cal is good at home, Nevada put over 800 yards total offense on Idaho, Civil war is a rivalry game, Auburn is terrible on road and USCe almost beat Auburn at Auburn, Okie st can beat Nebraska, Iowa is usually good at home, Okie Okie st is a rivalry game.

Just a quick question that might have been asked and answered in this thread.
In the event that some extremely incriminating evidence comes out against Cam Newton and his eligibility, and Auburn is forced to forfeit their wins, does that mean that LSU would play in the SEC championship?
Cam Newton's father has already admitted to requiring money for his son's signing, and that's why I'm wondering if it could happen before the season's end.

I think some people confuse the actual rules of the BCS with popular opinion.
By that I mean that the voters have shown over the past several years that the preference is to put conference champions in the title game. In both instances where a non-champ went to the title game, they lost (Nebraska in 2001 to Miami and Okie to LSU in 2003). Since then, the voters have put UF over Michigan (2006, where UF ended up winning) and LSU over Georgia (2007, where LSU ended up winning). In both scenarios, a non-conference champ could have made a case for inclusion, but the voters kept them out. No rule exists that prevents it, though unless there are tons of teams like LSU (one loss, no chance at a conference champ) and the conference champ ends up losing out (in this case, Auburn drops two in a row), this scenario will never happen.
Even if Auburn loses 2 and a bunch of other teams lose, there is a good chance that a one-loss conference champ can jump LSU.

Yes, there is a rule. Can't believe it slipped my mind. Chicken should just delete this thread?

Oregon state is not beating Oregon.
Oregon has another game. Better hope they lose it.
Do not worry your pretty little head about the one loss teams lower than LSU's #5.

This is impossible because tie breakers are used when teams have equal records. So in your scenario:
Bama has 2 losses
Auburn has 1 loss
LSU has 1 loss
The reason why Auburn is already projected to go to SEC champ game is because they already won the West. Even if Auburn Loses they still beat LSU head to head. So the co-west champs is over.

The human polls will almost assuredly put 1-loss BCS conference champions above us.
- Michigan/Wiscy/tOSU
- Okie St/Nebraska
- Oregon (if they lose one)
- Auburn (if they lose one)
HOWEVER, Big Ten and PAC-10 don't play a conference championship giving a little ammunition to divisional tiebreaker loser with a stout schedule in LSU (if Auburn were to lose to Alabama).
The main thing we have going for us is the computers.

LSU would be a co-champion of the SECW if we win out and Auburn loses to Bama. It's only semantics like saying 'undefeated in regulation'. It's a better argument than being outright 2nd in the West however.

Is it possible that an 11-1 LSU is left out of the BCS if Auburn beats SC?
Because if Auburn loses to Bama and then beats SC but is left out of the BCSCG, it will go to the Sugar bowl. If we are jumped by the 11-1 Auburn and are left out of the top 4, isn't it possible that the Rose bowl picks Stanford to play Wisconsin and the Sugar Bowl picks Ohio St. to play Auburn?
eta: in that scenario, the BCS teams would be this:
ACC champ
Big East champ
Big 10 champ
Big 12 champ
Pac 10 champ
SEC champ
at large: TCU, Boise, Stanford, Ohio St.
Would they be so cruel as to leave a 1 loss, #5 ranked LSU out of the BCS?

I know. This is a big myth and I do not know who perpetuated it. I try every week to remind the rant, so this myth goes away.

No, I think Auburn would get the Sugar in that case and LSU would be an at large, hopefully in the rose bowl, but most likely the Orange.
