You are the one that claimed there was "no way" South Carolina would play in the Sugar when for decades the rule has been the SEC Champ plays in the Sugar. How are we supposed to respond that "opinion"?

how do the computers still keep TCU ranked ahead of LSU considering LSU wins out?
How much TCU wins by is irrelevant. But personally I think LSU passes TCU in the computers after the Arky game. I just don't think it is enough to overcome the human polls.
I really believe that almost every human voter puts TCU over LSU and on top of that I think other teams at least "share" that next slot with LSU. If LSU were 1.5 spots behind TCU in the polls, they would need to be 3 spots above in the computers. 3 spots is a lot!

You can predict BCS info well, but you obviously cant read post that state "didnt know the Sugar Bowl protocol." Nice job

Well I put my opinion out there. We'll see how close I get. That is having Auburn lose to Alabama and win the SEC Championship Game while everyone else wins out.
If that doesn't happen then my predicition doesn't mean anything. We'll find out how much of a bite LSU and Auburn took out TCU and Boise State.

lsumatt,
So I guess in our Hypothetical...for the "perfect storm"
LSU wins out
Auburn has to lose to Bama and SC
Oregon has to lose once, maybe twice
Wisconsin has to lose one more time
Nebraska has to lose one more time
Stanford has to lose one more time
Ohio St has to lose one more time
Ok State has to lose one more time
Mich St has to lose one more time
Leaving TCU and Boise undefeated and LSU with 1 loss.....would LSU play in BCSCG? Or is it still the voters who can control our fate? (Potentially Boise vs TCU....or....1 loss Oregon vs TCU). Thanks again.
ONE MORE TIME!!!

We would likely pass Boise in that scenario. We wouldn't need all those things to happen and in fact some of them are almost detrimental because they don't help us wedge out Boise in the computers.

Boise might/probably would be ahead of LSU in the human polls and LSU would definitely be ahead in the computers. For every spot Boise is ahead in the human polls, LSU needs two spots ahead in the computers. Worst case scenario (and it may not be near this bad) is something like:
Human Polls:
1.5 TCU
1.5 Boise
3. LSU
So LSU would need to be ahead 3 spots in the computers. Two teams would need to be between LSU and Boise. TCU is one of them, but who is the other if all the decent teams keep losing? Some of them have to be good enough to be ranked above Boise in the comps, but not good enough to take more voters away from LSU. Michigan State maybe? Stanford?

We need Nebraska, Stanford and Oklahoma State to keep winning. These three teams will have a detrimental effect on TCU and Boise St in the computer polls. Wisconsin needs to lose so we can get some help in the human polls.
If those 2 of those 3 teams win out and Wisonsin loses then LSU will jump Boise St. and TCU. An Auburn loss will do the same thing as OSU, Stanford and Nebraska.

Those teams do help wedge TCU/Boise from LSU in the computers, but you don't think that on Dec 4th,voters pull out their pencil and think hard about ranking a 1-loss Big 12 champion above the team that finished 2nd in the SECW?

How are we .824 and Wisconsin .726 and if we win out beating what will more than likely be a 10 bcs ranked Arkansas we are going to somehow be passed by Wisconsin? I am convinced after hearing the "expert " on espn last week say there was no way Boise could catch tcu, yet this week say he was wrong and they could, no one knows for sure-even the experts.
Posted on 11/14/10 at 8:01 pm to lsumatt
On a typical year I would agree with you. However, the SECW is stacked this year. Most of the losses the teams have are from West opponents excluding Ole Miss losses and Bamas loss to the SEC East Champion. You know your division is tough when you can go 11-1 and not win it and also play teams 4 ranked in the top 25. Some teams don't even do that for their whole season.

I don't think I said Wisconsin would pass us in the BCS. I said Wisconsin would need to lose for us to pass TCU.

Matt -
what's the gap between LSU and BSU if Harris and Coaches had LSU at 5?

We would be ahead of Boise if we were a pure #5. Problem is LSU isn't even really #6, we are a #6.1 in the human polls.

Note how TCU and Boise St. both lost points in the BCS. Like I have been saying LSU is on the up and TCU is on the downward spiral. I believe without a doubt that if 2 of the top 4 teams lose LSU will be in the BCSNG.

you lost me there.
Isn't LSU #6 in Coaches, #6 in Harris and #3 in Computer?
Posted on 11/14/10 at 8:16 pm to Dodd
You can be "#6" as in the 6th most votes, but your average ranking of all the voters might be 6 and half or something.
TCU is ranked #4, but their average rank is about 3.5, so they are about 2.5 spots above us.
