Is he going to get a medical redshirt for his freshman season or did that HR he hit in his 1 AB ruin that?

Off the top of my head Gausman is the only one.

I had heard Mainieri say he would in fact be receiving a medical redshirt for the 09' season however the official roster list him as a senior.
Don't know if they retracted it or not...

The class of seniors are the only ones that appear weak to me, but that happens

I'm pretty sure Jacoby Jones will be eligible as well.

Gausman will be 21 in June
Jones will only be 20 in June

quote:

Certain groups of players are ineligible for selection, generally because they are still in school. The basic categories of players eligible to be drafted are:

High school players, if they have graduated from high school and have not yet attended college or junior college;
College players, from four-year colleges who have either completed their junior or senior years or are at least 21 years old; and
Junior college players, regardless of how many years of school they have completed

Therefore JaCoby is not eligible for the draft till 2013. Gausman was held back a year in grade school is my only logic.

Adam, have you heard of Tyler Moore switch hitting? Do you think he's gonna be a difference maker for this team with his bat?

I think we've covered everything for the year besides the "fire PM threads" once LSU loses it's first game.

No, and I don't think Mainieri would switch him over to the right side any time soon seeing as LSU has 8 other right handed batters.

I think if Moore is in the starting lineup Feb 17th he could have a very solid season.

What kind of pro prospect is Katz?

Obviously his bat doesn't translate to a 1B/3B at the professional level power wise and his lack of a true position will hurt him, but I see him being a 2B on the next level.

He's a guy I played with my whole life including at Jesuit where we graduated in the same class.

Just wanted to see if you had a feel for a position for him at the next level and what possible round he could go in.

He'll be a 2B/LF prospect, depending on what kind of year he has he could go anywhere from rounds 15-25 to not drafted at all.

Season Predictions for Regular Season

39-17
16-14 in SEC

LSU's SEC slate this year opens up with two teams who will likely find themselves at the bottom of the SEC WEST so it is imperative for the Tigers to get off to a great start in the first six games. Last year LSU was mentally devistated in the SEC opener and never recovered.

LSU then takes on Arkansas and Florida who are near the top of their respective divisions.

After the very tough six game stretch LSU's schedule lightens up a bit with Alabama, Kentucky, Georiga, and Ole Miss before back to back series to end the regular season with Vanderbilt and South Carolina who will be quite a challenge to put it lightly.

The key to LSU's success will be winning at least 12-13 games vs AUB, MISS. ST., ALA, UK, OLE, and UGA.

The SEC is extremely top heavy again...series against USC, VAN, ARK, and FLA will be tough.

I think LSU will end up as a 4 or 5 seed in the SEC tournament.

LSU hosts a regional for the first time since 2009.

LSU travels on the road for a super regional.

Yep. That 1 out homer in the top of the 9th was devastating.
