Considering Miles history- be glad that ZM was not placed in that position. I have always blamed Miles for Lee's 2008 season. I know others blamed Perrilloux's behavior that led to his dismissal. We all know that Miles did not sign a QB between Ryan & Lee. Another brain fart by Miles!

even just running the offense from the first 8 games (pre all out JJ), with what we've had at QB he'll look like Brady out there to us LSU fans

I just hope the guy hasn't just sold Shep a bill of goods.

if we don't see a lot more vertical passing with Mett, then I'm going to start calling for Miles to step down.
As much as I like Miles, i would have to join you with that. Time to let the ball fly, keep defenses guessing, and join the world of modern football. We can win a lot of games just overpowering teams like we did this year but eventually you run up against a team that you can't do that. You have to have your offense in place just for those games. shite, even Saban and Alabama, who could overpower just about anybody running the ball if they wanted to, still goes to a verticle passing attack often on early downs.

very true we need to have a truly balanced attack.not just overall run to pass ratio but also considering down and distance.we have got to throw the ball on neutral downs and take some shots on third and short

Speaking of Brady,
I fully believe it was the Rant who finally brought Brady down.
With all the talent that this guy has recruited, we should be winning MULTIPLE NCs.

Speaking also of modern football, Miles' run-only philosophy is more suited for the 1940s than the 2010s.

And personally, I think the whole explanation by JLee, TBob, etc. is just damage control.
I fully believe that SOMETHING (if we don't have the full accurate description) happened Monday night in that locker room.
Why do you think all the underclassmen have bailed ship? Do you really think, for example, Michael Brockers would have in a perfect situation have left after his SOPHOMORE season?

I am actually a big fan of run EMPHASIS football in college. As the season progressed early on, we did that a bit but still had the THREAT of JL going over the top. Hence, the run worked because teams knew that selling out against it would mean JL burns them.
Once JJ showed up, teams knew all they had to do was run stop.
Unlike many, I don't believe Miles is incompetent so he simply HAD to recognize that. Hence, his reasons for benching JL were NOT football reasons and the BS rumor reasons don't fly because he's been doing this shite for two damned years.

Nothing againt you personnally --- but these types of comments baffle me..... is the incinuation that if we had a Head Coach making $150,000 a year you would expect and accept losing? Miles earns his money putting up with idiots that bitch and moan about everything.... he's a positive, upbeat guy... the negativitiy of the average LSU fan (or the ones that voice their opinion here negatively) wears on a guy... it's a wonder he's WILLING to stay at LSU. Fact is --- he's going to be a winning football coach wherever he is -- he's proven that already and he's twice turned down the opportunity to leave... LSU fans owe him a debt of gratitude not all this griping.

either way you slice it he's an idiot or an a-hole.killed this team and cost us a championship

I'm like an earlier poster: I'm tired of losing seasons, big games, etc. for Miles to correct HIS mistakes. He had better have learned his lesson.
Posted on 1/15/12 at 12:55 pm to boxcar willie
Why would anyone believe anything Miles says? When hsa he ever said anything of substance in regards to playing, other than running the ball, that was accurate?

Do you really think that when JL was considering transferring he would have come back if LM had been honest that JL would NEVER overcome the stigma of 2008 and that it would ALWAYS be a problem(or worse, that JJ was going to play over him regardless of how poorly JJ played)?
JL was lied to. He was OBVIOUSLY told he'd have a shot going forward.
Anyone who has watched the last two years AND listened to MILES' OWN WORDS can see that isn't what happened.
Miles has ADMITTED to the LSU fans with his OWN WORDS/ACTIONS that
1)His whole "two QB rhetoric" when JJ first got back was absolutely a pack of lies
and
2)That he RECOGNIZED his offense sucked balls at the "back end of the season".
#2 tells you that JL was NOT sitting for "football reasons".
As for the rumors about grades. Well, that shite doesn't explain it happening for TWO frickING YEARS!!!

Because hes going to be drafted in the first round and make millions of dollars to play a game. Is that a good enough reason?

You clearly have no clue what you are talking about. Teams routinely stacked the box when Lee was starting. When JJ started most teams didn't stack the box. This is one of the reasons why we ran the ball better with JJ in the game.

the two qb thing really pisses me off because that only applied until his baby became the starter, that was an outright, premeditated lie
