Charles
Lewis
Brumfield
Ingram
Deculus

Avg. 6'4. 317#

Throw in Campbell or Magee and that number goes up. Add Cushenberry and Traore and this is more depth on the o-line than we've had in a while.

Touche’. It guess it all depends on severity, but I think an Achilles’ tendon rupture usually beats a broken Calcaneus. Didn’t Curley Hallman make an Achilles’ tendon reference during a press conference while HC at LSU?

Not to mention 10 pounds for a 320 pound guy is pretty much optional in either direction.

Thanks to freshmen starting last year and a couple big time recruits along with Brumfield to add to it, we actually do have some depth.

Lewis & Ingram at G and Brumfield at C. Lewis needs to start at G.

No, if there is a single group that could sink the season, the OL would be it.

IMO the O Line will be just fine. Injuries will hit, that is a given. Guys will be banged up so you have to have formidable depth to play in the SEC.
Beyond the starting 5, Cush is a serviceable backup who can play both guard and center if he doesn’t win the job against Brumfield. Campbell is a solid guard, Magee is a quality swingman who offers you the ability to play some tackle and guard. We don’t really know what we have in Traore yet.

When talking about blocking, you can’t leave out the idea that TEs, FB, and RBs chip in to help contribute to blocking schemes.

C - Cushenberry 316 or Brumfield 299
G - Damien Lewis 326;
G - Ed Ingram 314
T - Deculus 324 or Magee 323 or Traore 310
T - Charles 321

Avg weight is 316.8 for all potential starters (w/ Brumfield as starting center, Lewis, Ingram, Deculus, and Charles); the weight would only go up from there unless Traore was the starter at tackle.

Well that's your opinion. Mine is that they will have more depth, more natural talent, and be better coached.

Yes. This is team is loaded and in game shape right now per moffitt. No reason to think we don't win the west this year assuming coach can manage things accordingly

I don't think it's going to be bad, but I'm definitely not praising it like a lot have on here.

There is some starting experience here for 3 guys, but no more than a year and they weren't great by any stretch. The rest is inexperienced depth and youth. People are banking on the new OL coach to turn them into a great unit year one, but I'm skeptical.

At least we don't have Miles telling us it's the best offensive line he's seen year in and year out

Yeah, genius, you are the sole LSU fan who has given this consideration.

Well one reason would be Alabama. Did we suddenly leap over them in talent and coaching? Can we win it, sure. But there is definitely a reason that we wouldn't...

Offensive Line WorriesAm I alone in believing that LSU's offensive line could be the team's Achilles' tendon, once SEC play begins? Not only is the line smallish, averaging only 310 pds. as opposed to Florida and Georgia ave. about 330, there just doesn't seem to be that much depth up front.
I can't remember? LSU with numerous all American offensive linemen?

Personally I think it is the main area of concern, outside of QB of course.

I've been saying all offseason that the Oline is an area of concern.
