Of all the things that have happened for us on this run, the one thing I didn’t…

see coming was how we have turned things around defensively. These guys are playing at an elite level in the field. Except for that booted ball by Braswell in the blowout win against Kentucky, we have just been solid. That crazy play on the bunt yesterday was almost reminiscent of Tre’ Morgan’s play at the plate in the CWS!

It's my understanding this is a defensive play that is practiced several times a week. They are well prepared for that situation.

When you square that early, it gives the defender every opportunity to be right on top of the play when it's laid down. Great play by Bear!!

Attempted double steal defense was pretty sharp as well.

Reminded me of Morgan in the CWS last year, just to third instead of home

Great play by Tommy at 3rd…first baseman stretch and kept contact with the bag.

of all the things that confused me, the punctuation in your thread title is most confusing.

Still, to see it executed in a live game was exciting. Especially under pressure.

For those that didn't play college ball or for a really good high school coach, I'd think you'd be surprised at just how much time is devoted in practice to PFPs, bunt defense, and 1st and 3rd situations. We had like 7 different plays we could run on 1st and 3rd on defense. And practiced every possible bunt situation over and over and over. Over 50% of just about every practice. It's why our guys are so aggressive on those plays and go make them without any hesitation. They are ready for just about anything. Even Milazzo's bad throw against Bama, he did great by immediately jumping up and taking charge and going to get the ball.

No doubt. You still have to do it. But when it's drilled so much, it becomes more instinct and muscle memory and takes away some of the pressure. They don't have time to think about the stakes in that moment. They are able to just react.

Defense and hitting are contagious, both good and bad. I’m glad that the good vibes are striking at the right time of year.

He did do that well but to be critical, he lost the handle due to not scooping and not having his feet aligned while reaching vs ‘nose in dirt’ on the barehand.
