no it isn't....see the '11 season for the truth. yeah, yeah....the natcham game looked and was horrible but an honest man would credit bama for making it that way. personally, I want Stud back on the sidelines game coaching and motivating the oline back to prominence. a young, fresh innovative OC would be a step in the right direction. LM is reportedly on the west coast today....hopefully he is doing something besides talking to kids and their parents.

get better.

Why is it assumed that a new OC might scare potential recruits away?

Nobody said it would. It COULD. Recruits are 18 year olds kids. If they were recruited by someone in particular they might feel comfortable with that particular person. If that person leaves it might make the recruit feel uncomfortable about the program. It COULD. Might not, but it could. Why risk it at this point? So people on the Rant can be happy we hired one?

Would you rather be a receiver going into Cam Cameron's system, or Stud's system?

We aren't recruiting any more offensive players in this class. The kids committed currently committed to the coaching staff in place, not just because of the offensive system but also the comfort with the staff.

Making a change now would mean basically "re-recruiting" currently committed kids to get them familiar with a new hire. Also 90% of high school recruits probably have no clue who Cam Cameron is.

I don't know if a change would be made, but making one now requires a lot more work, when closing out the 2013 class is the number 1 priority

Where did I say I don't think we should hire a new OC? You clearly don't know anything about how the recruiting process and NSD. You are just an ignorant retard that thinks the offense sucks.

Actually i know everything about the recruting process and national signing day i know we could loose some recruits to a change but guess what we get a top ten recruting class every fricking year so we can afford to loose one or two recruits

I'm sure Miles is willing to sacrifice some recruits, just so you feel better.

What is the point in changing now and not waiting til nsd?

You just gave an example of what could go wrong.

belowpar says he hasn't heard anything, and you got a few other guys who I guess are supposed to be plugged in to TAF types insinuating that they've "heard things". not much more than that.

I'm pretty doubtful any change will happen.

Pretty much. I'm afraid to get my hopes up, but sadly I think it is too late for that. The only thing left is to be disappointed...

I'm ok with this, even though a part of me kind of feels like it's wrong to do that to the kids that sign. It's bait and switch.

Are you kidding, I am not defending Stud here but he was an OC at a smaller school. And OC's are just not born they are promoted from other coaching positions.

That being said it is not Stud that is the problem, it is that Miles is eyeballs deep in the offensive play calling and there is the issue. Everyone at this point knows that Stud can't take a sh*t without Miles giving approval, and it was no different with Crowton. Our offense will not be successful until MIles does what he does with the defense and that is get out of it's way and let the OC do his job. Hire the right guy "like Chief is on defense" and let him do his job.

Recruit:

I'm testin' my resistance and its wearin' mighty thin

I got the feelin' I should leave before the OC change is made or not made

My mind tells me to move along but Leslie and Stud beg me stay

And now I feel the need to hold them close and love the night away

While you're recruitin' me

Every which way but loose

You recruit me every which way but loose

Inside the lack of a credible OC's burnin' me

In mind you just keep recruitin' me

Every which way but loose

Leslie there's no excuse

To recruit me every which way but loose

The only rumors I have seen have been on here. I highly doubt anything changes. I asked my friend last night if he heard anything and he said he didn't. He's on the inside.

Nothing will change because Miles doesn't think anything is wrong. Period.

This angle bothers me as well. A 17-14 or 12-10 win in the NFL is solid. The talent level is somewhat similar and the season isn't ruined by two losses. Its different when you're beating Towson or a dreadful Auburn squad by the skin of your teeth. Or when a handful of first downs is the difference in 10-3 and 14-0. The number of returning starters coming back on O would be promising for another coaching staff but I'm frankly expecting more of the same.

If, IF, the rumors are true and Cameron comes on board I could maybe see Miles giving his longtime buddy actual control. No one else.
