So can we just go get Marcus Freeman when its over please Derek? Even if it's just for a year maybe he can at least teach someone on the staff how to defend these modern offenses similar to what Brady did for E.

Their defense is absolutely filthy and puts really good offenses with comparable talent on lock down.

Is it obvious though?

I don’t think it’s obvious at all, and that has nothing to do with whether I think it should happen.

The financial aspect of it is real and with the layoffs and salary cuts, I’ll be surprised if Pelini is fired.

I could see the Governor stepping in.

Also how many times can a head coach hire and fire guys after just one year? At some point that has to reflect that he's not good at evaluating coaches.

I agree with this completely. But at the same time keeping Pelini around longer rather than just cutting your losses would be an even bigger mistake. But no his track record in making good hires isn't very good. That's why he needs us to assist him

The two things that complicate firing Bo are:
1) big payout
2) the next prospective DC won't get the deal Bo and Canada got. O had deep pockets after '19. Then he'll be looking for loose change.

Derrick Davis committed to LSU. Doubt Pelini is going anywhere

Hard to disagree. It will be an interesting offseason.

Maybe he goes on the "Coach E" plan next season. Bring in the "Joe Brady" of LB'ers and infuse some new thought processes/schemes into our D. I would say based on this year's individual performances, we are gonna be young but talented.

DE's will stout with Ojalari being all-SEC guy or better. We will probably start 2 freshmen LB'ers and 2 true freshmen safeties.

If our interior linemen step up, this unit should be markedly improved regardless of the DC.

Also need to give the same coach credit for keeping Dave Aranda around and hiring Joe Brady!!

Only the emotional TD posters believe otherwise.

Absolutely he deserves that credit. Even as one of his biggest skeptics I was giving him credit for being able to retain Aranda in '17. Unfortunately, those guys can't help us now and those two look like outliers right now, not the norm.

Boosters can raise the money quickly, chump change.

I’m sure they can, but I’m not sure they should. If a kid keeps making the same mistakes, does the good parent keep bailing him out at the 1st sign/season of adversity, or does he make him work to fight through it and figure it out himself?

Oh, you mean the same governor who threatened to shut down the LSU football program if he didn’t get his tax increase package passed?
