It wasn’t hard to convince Brennan

Anyway, you could tell that Nabers agrees with Boutte that Nussmeier should be named the starter. I mean, by Nabers' over exuberant response with respect to Nussmeier, you could easily tell which QB he wants to be named the starter. I mean, it was very obvious.
Well that does it then. What L S U needs is to have the players pick the team.
And better yet have them pick the head coach as well. What possibly could go wrong with that?
The sad part of all this is that if Nussmeier is actually named the starter within less than a week some of the same of you baws will be shitting all over him and screaming for someone else.

Do you think Brennan would still be here if he knew he wasn't starting. What do you think Kelly told him when he convinced him to remain at LSU?
You could say this about either of them. Why would Daniels transfer to LSU if he knew he wouldn’t start? Why would Nuss stick around if he knew he wouldn’t start and a 5* BK has a relationship with is coming in?

No one on this board knows who will start or who deserves to start.
Doesn't stop them from proclaiming that they know the right guy, though. This way, no matter who the starter is, we can start off the Brian Kelly era in typical LSU fashion; a portion of the fan base crying and complaining that the head coach is playing the wrong quarterback. Never ends.

You really need to go back and listen to what Boutte said.
I already did, a bunch of times. It's clear as day, Boutte wants Nuss to be named the starter because he says Nuss will win the most games and maybe even a championship if lucky. Then he concluded, by saying he likes everything about Nuss because he does everything the best.
Meanwhile, Malik Nabers got very carried away on the Moscona show bragging about how incredibly good Nuss is. As unlike Boutte, he didn't come outright and say it, but you could easily tell by his demeanor that he wants Nuss to be named the starter.
There are other hints as well. For instance, Jack Bech said in one of his many post spring game interviews that the thing he likes the most about Nuss is when he is having to elude the rush, Nuss doesn't take off running like Daniels does, but instead, Nuss keeps his eyes peeled downfield to try to find an open receiver.
If you halfway pay attention, there are a lot of little tidbits you can pickup here and there that provide an indicator for who these wide receivers prefer to be named the starter.

Phil Robertson was starting over terry Bradshaw at tech. Untill he saw ducks flying over head and said screw it. He would rather hunt than play football.
Now all I can imagine is Miles staring in a show called fish dynasty in about 40 years lol

I'm going to laugh when Brennan trots out as the starter vs Florida State and throws 4 TDs. He's done nothing to get all this hate.

Like Saban and Coach O both said, anytime there is a QB battle, the players know who is winning.

Nah, Nussmeier is a future first rounder with elite arm talent. There will be no reason to turn on him.

I hope you are a family member or a family friend or something. He’s a great young player, and he very well may be the starter. But your obsession with him seems unhealthy. No disrespect if you are one of the previously mentioned things

Like Brennan, all Daniels knew was that he'd get a fair chance to compete for the job. As no one was promised anything.
Meanwhile, if Nuss gets jacked out of the starting job, he will inevitably enter the transfer portal. Which is another reason why Brian Kelly will name Nuss the starter. As LSU can't afford to lose a super talented QB that way.

My obsession with Nuss is no greater than you emotionally attached Myles Brennan homer's obsession with Myles Brennan, to the point that you guys believe that it his turn to be named the starter because he is owed and entitled to the starting job, and if that causes LSU to have two, three, or more losses in 2022, then so be it. As that is the price that must be paid for Myles Brennan's loyalty to LSU.

quote:You are 100% correct. LSU fans have been this way every year besides 2019 as far back as I can remember. The backup is always better.
Ever the Rant. Brennan is projected by many to be the starter, so naturally the never played coaches club on the rant anoints the other guys as better.

Armchair, I thought I recognized your username. You're the guy who said Rickie Collins will never sign with LSU, nor will any other quarterback this year, since it would be at least 2027 before they would start.
When posters disagreed with you, you went on a tirade, telling everyone else how stupid they are and calling them mental midgets.
Yeah, I remember you. I hope you sobered up before getting behind the wheel.

I agree 100%. Does anyone honestly trust Myles Brennan to beat Florida, A&M, or Bama? Put the ball in Nuss' hands and let's roll

Doesn't hurt that Bech is Nuss' roommate as well.

I am in no way attached to Myles Brennan or any potential starter. Nice try though.

I once spent a lot of time reading the OSU Buckeye board. Back a few years ago, JT Barrett was QB and despite his shortcomings, Urban stuck with him to the bitter end when clearly Haskins and a guy named Jeaux B. Needed to see the field. Someone much like Armchair Tiger was pounding the table day after day about how good JB was and that he would be a future NFL quarterback. This poster was accused of being a Burrow family fanboy by several posters and ridiculed endlessly. But he did not back down. And he was RIGHT!
