Year one under McMahon was to be expected. In year two I thought finishing middle of the pack in the SEC would be a good year. That’s exactly where we’re at. I truly think we’re headed in the right direction. It may not be as fast as some of you would like but it’s a clear improvement from last year. Let’s see where McMahon can take us in SEC tourney and year three.

This is obvious. This is probably right where we should be this year. Anybody that was expecting 15 conference win wasn’t being unrealistic. Next year will significant for McMahon. He needs to continue this trajectory and make the tournament

I think this year is a good step. Let’s see if he can hold on to his team and add enough to make the next step. I think he can coach but jury still out on the incoming talent.

McMahon has done a great job rebuilding the program. I expect sweet 16 next year. That’s the kind of trajectory McMahon is on now

I don't expect next year to be a big jump, but I don't think it's too much to expect them to male the tourney and hopefully contend for the SEC, and least for a little while.

What a loser mentality

We expected to finish dead last in the SEC losing most of our games by double digits?

Well, at least we managed to win a few SEC games. Mizzou didn't even do that this year.

You might want to temper those expectations, lol

Nahh but with the headwinds MM was facing ... im treating this as year 1.

To go 9-9 in one of the toughest SECs in recent memory, its an absolute W

Now lets make some postseason noise.. who says no??

I am in the minority on this one but I am not impressed with the overall direction of the program. How many quality wins did lsu have 1 at South Carolina? The center is t a div1 player.

Let't finish in the Big Apple!

I'm assuming the NIT Final Four is still in Madison Square Garden.

It was a nice turnaround after the program looked dead at the end of non-conference play. Hopefully things continue to trend up. But I’d tell anyone who thinks progress is linear in this era of college basketball to not jump the gun. The fortunes of a program can change dramatically in one year.

Vanderbilt last year was like LSU this year. They got hot at the end of SEC play and looked poised to keep it going this year with 7 of their 8 leading scorers set to return. Then 4 of those guys transferred out (one to LSU). Now they are the second worse team in the league.

Missouri unexpectedly made the NCAAT last season after a great year one turnaround with a ton of new players. They are now 0-18 in SEC play. South Carolina was bad last season. They will be in the NCAAT this year.

How many key guys McMahon can retain and who he can get in the portal will tell the tale. Until then, there is no way to accurately predict next season.
