Now I know how stupid and delusional LSU fans can be...

Etling still can't hit a target in stride. His passes, especially short to mid passes, are high and low, and usually behind the receiver. Our WR's are really stepping up and helping the QB, but we are leaving so many yards on the field, and leaving balls open to interceptions, especially against Bama.
Found this gem on DandyDon.com this morning in Scott's weekly mail call segment. The author's name is supposedly "Jeff". What an idiot to say that Etling "...can't hit a target in stride...especially the short to mid passes... Sure, he's been off on the deep routes, but to say he hasn't been accurate on his short to mid-range passing is delusional. His ability to spot those receivers and then execute is what sets him apart from the previous QB and has improved this team drastically. Keep it up, Danny Boy.
On another note, I didn't realize meth was such a problem in Louisiana.

I agree with only this part. If Etling can get in sync with his receivers downfield, they can play long ball all game with LSU's big receivers.
His short and middle passing game has been great. He does have better pocket awareness than Harris, and does a great job on the check down and hitting the open man.

Some people just have to be negative
Is Etling the second coming of Manning? No, but he is more than serviceable for LSU
He does float a lot of his passes over 20 yards which can be trouble but he is lightyearstill better than any other option at this point

LSU Fans: If you aren't bitching about something, you just aren't living.

This should have been obvious the past few weeks when some were questioning if LF7 quit on this team and saying Guice is the better back.

Uh, yep. There is no way a the Ole Miss retread coach is going to do anything special this weekend. The idea that all the problem will be solved if Miles is not there to hold the team back is hilarious. It was not Miles on the field fumbling. A big part of this fan base wanted Miles gone in 2005 Tenn game and has just keep harping on it for 12 years. Now we have a failed coach as head coach and everyone is expecting to see the Fun-n-Gun offense
This was my favorite one

You're acting like he should be given the Heisman. Is he a better game manager than many of our previous QBs? Aboslutely! Is he GOAT? Not even close. He missed on several throws, but he completed many. Calling a fan stupid and delusional because they're asking for more is pretty petty. I have a LOT more confidence when he drops back to pass than I did with Jefferson, Lee, Jennings, or Harris but call a spade a spade. He's no Joe Montana or John Elway. We won't win many games because he lead the team, but he can surely manage the offense he's been given.

man, truer words have not been spoken. LSU fans are schitzo; they are the best and the worst fans in the country. to be fair to them (us), a message board is far from a true representation of the entire fan base. it's called the Rant and boy is ranting popular.
all in all, I think we have a great fan base; we support the team and we are very passionate. many of us are alums and love the team and school.

You seem pretty stupid, too. You probably didn't fare well in the Reading Comprehension component of the ACT.

I love threads that bitch about people who bitch.

Why get so worked up about shite on a message board?

Etling is basically the QB that LSU fans have been begging for. Just let the skill players do their thing, move the chains, let the defense stay rested and tee off.

honestly it looks like he is just chunking up a prayer when he is going deep. But other than that he has been quite solid on the short and intermediate stuff. He earned my respect with his grit shown in the auburn game and taking that monster hit against Ole Miss.

No seriously. TnTigerman is usually a pretty crummy poster (which pains me Bc I unknowingly worked in his town for 4 years).
But how you came to that conclusion after reading his post is beyond comprehension. You must be retarded, Stexas.

You're the delusional one if you actually believe this represents even 1% of the fan base. Yeah take 1 idiots comment then say our entire fan base is crazy bc this one guys comment. Does that make you feel a little more intelligent?

That's not his role. His role is to not LOSE the game. We have plenty of other people that will win games for us. LSU's QBs have always just needed to manage the game and not turn the ball over. That is it, our other star athletes will win games for us.
