lol

They still have arguably the best LT in the country and a lot of talent. I think it's way too early to write Alabama off.

Even though they got beat, UGA looks like the best team right now.
I'm not really as worried about Bama. Frankly I'm tired of thinking about them and they won't be getting 3 non-offensive TDs every game.
I'm much less worried about Florida than I thought I'd be honestly, especially with it at home. Their offense looks pitiful.

I'm really feeling like we might be getting set up for an undefeated showdown with aTm come
November. I think they handle Bama and I don't believe they really have anyone else worth worrying about, save maybe Ole Miss if they can put up a fight.

My takeaway from the weekend is this:

1. LSU is capable of beating anyone on their schedule.

2. Bama isn't the juggernaut they have been. They are still really good, and it's going to take a lot to beat them, but they are for sure beatable.

3. THIS may be the year the SEC NC run stops. Clemson and Florida State are for real.

4. aTm needs to learn how to play defense. Or, depending on how you look at it, needs to figure out a way to keep their starting defensive players from smoking pot/missing class/having sex with farm animals/otherwise breaking team rules.

5. Les Miles, coupled with Cam Cameron, coupled with the talent in Louisiana over the next few years does not bode well for rest of the SEC. Just sayin.

They say the most improvement comes between game one and two. So we won't know a lot until after this weekend.

So if TCU played great defense in the red zone, what do you think teams like Florida, Bama and so on will do?

they'll play great defense as well. I think his point though was that we didn't get down there and run 3 dive plays, or start doing something different than what got us down there to start with. we threw the ball, mett made good throws, and absent great defensive plays (and one pretty much drop), we score touchdowns there.

They will play great defense too. I never said they wouldn't. But because a defender makes a great play on a ball doesn't mean a team has offensive red zone issues. We still scored 37 points with those red zone issues. TCU has a VERY good secondary. Overall, their secondary is probably as good as Florida or Bama's.

As long as Mett continues to make the throws that he did on Saturday night and some of the WRs (like Dural) start to get more playing time, they will begin to make those tough catches even when a defender is right there.

It was one game!

Let's not get over zealous here, it was a good victory but let's wait until after Auburn to start FAPing.

No, but they do have the right coach that will get those issues corrected before November.

serious?

sabama...osu...clempson...uga...atm...fsu...ut...the ville...michigan...Washington.

we played a very solid game, but the teams above also took care of business. I'm not sold on our lb's and we desperately need to find a big, fast target for Mett. we've got two weeks to get better and then it gets real. JMO.

get better than what I saw on satnite.

Reading must not be your strong suit. He said "Who on our Schedule?" Of the teams you listed above, only 3 are on our schedule.

And holy shite if you think Washington and UT looked as good as LSU. Mother of God.

you're right...I totally missed that. double duh.

as for the teams I listed....they all could beat us and I was thinking Oregon and typed Washington. I need stronger coffee. if we're 5-0 leaving Athens then, and only then, will I start to sip the coolaid.

get much better.

Usually the 2nd game will offer a much better picture of a team...and after game 3, most teams have shown much of their ability. If LSU doesn't sustain any critical injuries I expect them to improve throughout the season for several reasons.

Bama O-line looks bad I dont know how much they can improve. I think it is a chink in the armor and will cost them. I do not think at this point bama is the best team in the SEC let alone the country. LSU's game with bama is fast approaching and redemption is at hand.

Everyone looked sloppy. LSU did look better. However, if LSU wants to get the snowball rollin, the D needs to mature, and the coaches need to eradicate the stupid penalties. Offense is heading in the direction we've wanted.

No SEC team looked as good as LSU did.

But Bama did beat Va Tech by 25. LSU beat TCU by 10.

And Georgia (575 yds) did way better against Clemson (476 yds) last week than we did earlier in the year (219 yds) against essentially the same Clemson team (445 yds).

The last time LSU scored a touchdown in Tuscaloosa, it was with a senior class of players recruited and signed by Saban (2009).

But, yeah, LSU won the Week 1 beauty contest. And Mett is wearing the crown.
