I agree!

Osborne almost got ran out of Nebraska because he couldn't beat Oklahoma. He actual quietly interviewed for Colorado job because he thought he was going to be fired. Kelly's ND team are not LSU's teams. The bigger concern is the shooting themselves in the foot with discipline and penalties.

Not a BK fan but he has the most
Wins of any active coach. He also rehabbed 4 programs. He is good at fixing broken programs.

But he HAS to grow between now and August 2025. The thing that bothers me, the most is how we cannot get a run game going with this supposed great offensive line. He has to get the right players in missing positions. Championship level coaches will, so he needs to. He has have the team ready for game 1. . Championship level coaches will, so he needs to. He has to be able to keep the team from shooting itself in the foot. Championship level coaches will, so he needs to.

I see what you are saying and tend to agree on a lot or all of it. But one thing here bothers me. Apply that logic to Ed O…

What that tells me is that OC/DC fill that gap you illustrated otherwise we would not have disintegrated after 2019. So in my mind Sloan and Baker carry a lot of that water. Sloan is new as a play caller at this level and Baker is playing with a 40 card deck.

Will you still be saying that 2 years from now when he has yet to even make the CFP?

If we haven't made a CFP 2 years from now this is a completely different conversation. We play in by far the best league in the country. Winning is really hard. Kelly inherited a terrible situation. If I told any of you after the last 2 O seasons that our next coach would go 19-7 in his first 2 seasons every single person would have taken that.

I’m tired of people making bullshite excuses for BK’s inability to win anything big. It’s been 3 years and yet people are still defending him.

If Kelly was struggling in recruiting I might could get on board but he's clearly building something. His first class was thrown together and average but his next 2 were really good and this next one will be the best of the bunch. Building prolonged success takes time. Nobody outside of Saban took over a weak program and turned it into a national contender in less than 3/4 years.

If he had hired a competent DC

were you saying that after year 1? same DC mind you, on a D that actually bailed out the future heisman winner of some games.

that 1st year team is why i like the way BK is doing it. he had no choice but to hit the portal, and he hit some homerun guys, that left right after that. the next year, big misses, and all of a sudden the D sucked. same coaches.....and no i am not campaigning for House at all....just saying that the talent level from the portal year 1 was a good hit, and in year 2 it wasn't.

if you don't think we are talent deficient on the DL, on the back end, and even at RB, not sure who you think would be STARTERS from our team on other quality SEC teams......but the classes he's recruited are starting as freshman and sophomores now. we need talent and depth, and he's building it with guys who want to come here, not paid mercenaries.

It tells me he should not have gambled and stated that year three was the year to see it all crystallize.

And the forty card deck was known and we still didn’t compete to offer some studs for defense.

unrealistic expectations

This pretty much sums up every fanbase. Sums up our society TBH.

Winning the conference every year is an unrealistic expectation. However, making the college football playoff in year three when it has expanded to 12 freaking teams is NOT UNREALISTIC. He needs to start chewing some arse and get it done. It starts next Sat vs Bama.

Leave no stone unturned. Get with Sloan and Brad Davis & tell them to try different run blocking schemes (pulling guards, h backs etc to aid in opening holes). Tell Sloan to put in some jet sweeps to Anderson and Thomas to get our speed the ball in open space.

Work with Nuss on the importance of throwing the ball away if nobody is open or tucking it and running then sliding. Tell Baker to have a d-end crash the QB every single time on the read option. Tell Slade Nagle to get out of the booth and onto the field to coach the spec teams (maybe go after a punt...practice long snapping).

I want him to succeed. Let's go.
