Not sure why. Proximity ya know. Exposure to that team. Houston may not be a great city but I find it a far cry better than anything we have to offer in Louisiana.

My grandma in Baton Rouge says that the affiliate on TV was the Braves so not sure where the affiliation to the Astros is outside of just bandwagoning.

Are you an idiot? A lot of people from Louisiana move to Houston. People from Louisiana are constantly going there for work, visit family, etc. As some of said, it’s also the closest MLB team and has an LSU player on the team. It actually makes the most sense that would be the team they like
