As long as we have D White and J Phillips healthy. Both of them played lights out last night. Will be one hell of a tandem all year.

The Defense was lights out. I’m praying Chassion will be alright. Phillips and White are animals out there always looking to make a play.

We were getting gashed at the beginning of the game.

Gashed is what Brossette did to them. They got a couple nice runs but they were contained and had to rely on Rosier.

No question those two ILBs are dynamite. But a great deal of their effectiveness will be due to how well our D-Line plays (penetration, occupying blockers, etc). And I thought our D-Line played pretty well last night.

Jacob Phillips was the truth last night, but the rest of the D in general needs to work on tackling. There were too many plays where guys bounced off of ball carriers before someone finally brought them down.

Hot take. Even Saban has trouble with running QBs

Their first drive went backwards, they “gashed” us to the tune of a stalled red zone drive for a FG. They didn’t do what Nick did to them.

That prediction would be great in deed

But slow down

We haven't faced really good teams yet...ones that can exploit the over pursuit the defensive line displayed last night many times...and the missed tackles

It only seemed this way as we were sending the blitz hard all night. Our boys can cover east to west just fine.

We’ll be a top 3 run D in the SEC this year.

A team that can pass will be able to run especially if they use play action.

I think a lot of the missed tackles were due to it being the first game.

Even White whiffed on blitz up the middle that would have been a sack.

There were far too many missed tackles and poor angles but that will be corrected.

I liked how many players we played on defense. It seemed we played almost 10 DBS alone. (Steven's, delpit, battle, Alexander, Joseph, Fulton, greedy, Vincent)

Don’t get too excited yet. How many times did we miss a tackle on first contact or blow through the line and overrun an easy play?

Good teams will thrive on that sloppy play.

D played well but Chassion was a star and he might be out for the season. Had LSU not whiffed on so many tackles in the backfield they would have shut Miami down almost completely.

Good team swill have much better offensive lines than Miami.
