We had a QB competition going into 2018. Perhaps the best thing would have been if Burrow had been injured. Just following your logic.
nope. Neither Brennan, McMillian, nor Narcisse showed they were up to the task, after spring practice in 2018.

That's why O went out desperately seeking a transfer, and we got Burrow.

Burrow was brought in to start, because the other QBs we're good enough. Period.

I hope he's not as big a puss as you; if he is, losing Myles will be the worst thing that could have happened.

Reading what the dad said, I doubt max was beating Brennan for the job.

Having a qb that will run as your starter and a true freshman as his back up isn’t an ideal situation no matter how you spin it

And if Max gets the yips, you’re going to be so pissed that Myles tripped.

It is great that Max gets all of the reps with the 1s. Especially if Max was going to be the guy. And, Nuss will get all the reps with the 2s.

What happens if we lose the first game? Johnson throws a couple of interceptions?
Brennan is ready to play in eight weeks?
Getting Brennan ready/healthy is a win situation.

I hope Johnson, or whoever, leads us to and undefeated season.

Anyone know where I can bid to sit next to his dad in a booth to watch a game this year?

I thought Brennan would start for depth reasons and to avoid a transfer. Either could do well for us. But when I see videos of one always fishing in his time off and videos of the other always throwing and working out with his dad during time off, I feel good about who our QB is without him having to worry about competition.

Maybe not the best thing that could have happened, but I sure would have hated to see Brennan go through getting told that Max had beat him for the starting gig after all of his hard work and patience over the years.

I agree, I would’ve felt bad if Brennan got beat out by a dude who can’t throw the ball.

There really wasn't a QB competition because Max had run away with it.

If Max couldn't throw the ball last season, then why when you put their stats side by side together to examine them was Myles' stats only slightly marginally better than Max's stats? When Myles had both Terrace Marshall and Arik Gilbert to throw the ball to and when one of his games was against a Missouri team that had half it's defense out due to Covid protocols. Not to mention that another game was against a piss poor Vanderbilt team.

I mean, I would have thought that a five year senior's stats would be astronomically far better than a still wet behind the ears brand new true freshman who didn't even have nearly the number of reps a normal true freshman QB would have had to transition from high-school football to the SEC because of the Covid Pandemic. However, that's not the case at all, as Myles' stats are only slightly marginally better and even though Myles had Terrace Marshall and Arik Gilbert to throw the ball to and even though he played against worse defenses overall relative to the defenses and teams Max played against.

So I have to ask, what kind of hard drugs are you smoking?

I'd rather have depth.

Remember when JLee was named starter right before the season started?

There ended up being a lot of looking over your shoulder, that year
