that we have a consensus Top 3 (2009) recruiting class and don't place a single player on the Frosh All SEC team?

They should have waited until after the bowl season when Les and Garry take the wraps off of Russell Shepard.

Why would you want players on the freshman All-SEC list?

Only reason freshmen should play that significantly is if you didn't recruit well enough in the past.

and just who should have had plays taken away from them to get Shepard the ball?

We're you at practice to see all the freshmen outplay all the upperclassmen?

Go sit in the corner

with the amounts of redshirts we had and the slow development of shepard and randle it certainly isn't surprising

i think there are 3-4 tigers headed for that list next year

All Freshmen team means you played a lot as a freshmen, the top programs have depth to make it tougher for fr to play. Watch how many fr play for Bama two years from now - my guess, maybe one or two.

Ever heard of Laron Landry? You know the true freshman who, after he became the starting safety, helped us win a national championship.

Ever heard of Michael Clayton? How about Glen Dorsey, Drake Nevis, Early Doucet, Chevis Jackson, Dwayne Bowe, Buster Davis, Trev Faulk, Brady James?

My deal is if we weren't going to redshirt Shepard, why not involve him more in the gameplan? He is a wilcard, he can play QB, RB, and WR. The defense would have had to account for him every play if we used him effectivley.

Instead we gave him the ball 3 times per game on essentially the same play every time, never attempted one pass, and didn't even try to run a screen pass. His first year was wasted.

In case you missed the entire fricking season, Russell Shepard should have lined up only at one position and that's RB. The kid was lost as frick every other time he was on the field. I know the coaches have to do a better job but some of it has to fall on the player's grasping things themselves.

he had fumblitis at WR thats for sure

maybe not being able to see where the hit was coming from was a problem for him

as a RB you can better prepare for the blow as you see almost everyone pre-snap

i can agree with him not getting many touches at RB when we had a healthy scott and williams

as for QB, that entire position was a cluster f*ck in 2009

Miles hates true freshmen?

Seriously, Shepard had some nice runs during the season, kept drives going, then saw the bench for the rest of the game. It's like Miles forgot he was on the team

Apparently, this has to be said once per week.

why idont have a problem with this is cus, look who started on d last yr for us. peterson, and our d was absolutely terrible. now rueban and shep had to play on offense this yr and we were terrible. not always a good thing.

Oh yeah, for all the rest of you brilliant minds:

Think UF wins the 06 title without Tebow or Harvin?

Think OSU wins the 2002 title without Maurice Clarett?

Do you think that the Tide goes 12-0 last year without Ingram or Julio Jones?

Do you think AJ Green made a difference for UGa last year?

Do you not think those programs recruit well?

Players play regardless of whether they are freshman or not.

Think Patrick Peterson earned playing time last year?

agree. pretty tough to sway a 5* when you get a shep & rr to come here and you basically go houdini on them.

so what you are saying is the player that puts us in the best position to win should be on the field. brilliant.

wtf is the point of this thread?
