Are you really propping up a coach for the FAKE 2020 football season?

But he instantly had them ranked 2/3 years higher than they had been since JFF was there.

He definitely improved the program

2018: 8-4 (bogus calls to gift him a win over LSU 74-72)
2019: 7-5
2020: 8-1 in a season that doesn't count.

A&M should return to their 2018 or 2019 season selves this year

He will instantly become the second best basketball coach on campus

And the 2nd highest paid basketball coach at LSU. And 2nd by a very large margin

Oh, so that's why he lost to:
NC State
Miami
Louisville
Boston College

And beat the holy crap out of perennial POWERHOUSES:
Wake Forest W26-19
Duke W17-10
Syracuse W27-24

in his last season at Florida State while going 6-6 and playing in a crap conference

Thanks, I was wondering about that. It was the Administration's fault.

Why, you can't go to the games anyway unless capacity restrictions are changed. looks like Louisiana is following the Biden plan and may never go back to normal. Remember to wear your mask when driving alone in your car please.

Hate to break it to you guy, but Kim makes over $2 M at Baylor. So LSU is going to have go $3 M or higher to get her.

The point is that A&M wanted Jimbo and had the cash to do so. Woodward made it happen.

YOU, ME, ANYONE could have made that happen. Jimbo wanted out of FSU and A&M was willing to pay whatever amount Jimbo wanted. Jimbo and Sexton completely fleeced a desperate A&M booster group.

That said, football is still far and away the biggest profit generator in the athletic dept. So even with the "over pay" if it produced huge results (championships, tons of donations, sold out stadiums at premium ticket prices) then it would be worth it.

With Mulkey opening up the bank produces nothing other than a few warm and fuzzies. Even if she kills it at LSU the program will still lose millions and the "notoriety" championships would bring to LSU would be minimal. How many people know who won the NC in WBB this season? More importantly, how many people care to know?

Jimbo was a big price tag. But it also came with the opportunity to produce a big ROI. No matter how well Mulkey would perform at LSU there simply won't be any return to the AD for that investment.

These two situations aren't analogous AT ALL

You have an overinflated idea of WBB.

There is no way that hiring this woman or even hiring Jesus Christ himself to coach WBB would be some kind of coaching coup on the level of luring a power 5 football coach to another power 5 football coaching.

Sounds like you just REALLY wanted to make this point, considering I didn't mention anything about his W/L record.

You need help.

I do. Hell of a game that I have watched more than once.

My dad was a HS basketball coach and was a huge La Tech WBB fan since LSU didn't have a team until the mid 70's. He was also a huge Kim Mulkey fan. I guess I caught my love of the sport from him.

Same with softball but he was a huge SW La fan. Again because LSU didn't have a team.

Is Jimbo really bringing in that much more money to A&M than any other coach would?

Y'all enjoy Kim. I think her time is up in Waco. The new athletic director at Baylor didn't play her games, called her bluff, and it sounds like she is moving on. I wish her the best and I am being sincere in saying that.

Her reported demands: She wanted the new basketball arena to be on campus and the court to be named after her. The athletic director said no and some harsh words were exchanged to the point where there isn't really any going back.

No you were blaming the administration for Jimbo leaving. I was pointing out that it had more to do with him running Florida State into the ground. He was still getting very good recruiting classes and still losing to lousy teams. And he didn't say a word to his team before he skipped town. Great guy that Jimbo

He got out just before he was asked to get out and it had nothing to do with facilities.

Jimbo bowing up to 13 year old girl after losing to Louisville at home. Wonderful guy that Jimbo and his nephew is just like him except he prefers to sucker-punch old people with heart conditions

Dumbass nephew forgot about Kevin Faulk being on the sideline

That was Jimbo’s excuse for the program’s decline.

The excuse doesn’t hold any water when you realize that his team was falling behind mid-level ACC teams with far less “facilities” than FSU.

Baylor website - subscriber board. Pretty knowledgeable posters. It's no secret she wanted the court named after her - family members have petitioned for it on social media ever since her last national championship.

Weird that you would use a fake excuse of why Jimbo left FSU. One that Jimbo himself made up, if you really hate him.
