I'm sorry but I just don't see how James Connor was a 3rd round pick.

CMC knows how to setup plays, An example is the fake sweep HB wheel route that went for a big gain in the first half.

The only critique I'd have is that they weren't aggressive enough right before half. You get the ball with 3 min left and it's run, run, run with no sense of urgency. Maybe it was the HC that wanted to be conservative but I would have liked to see more aggressive play calling

his highlights were great at a glance but actually watching play by play he seems slow and non athletic to what we have

Can you put together the game you know we all want to see?.... I'm talking about Clemson in case that's not clear.

Seriously thanks for doing this man.

Man if we can't come at least remotely close to Pitt's production last year with our talent then it'll be embarrassing

Gotta think the natural space that'll open up for Guice could be deadly.

A lot of those plays have the QB faking the run to pull attention away from the HBs and RBs. And sometimes the QB actually runs it. Will that fool anyone when Etling does it?

Quadry(sp?) Henderson was playing the role of Clyde Edwards-Helaire in that video. CEH is going to tear it up in that role.

We ran the "No Huddle" in 1964. We ran the Pro Set and/or Pro Style, and Spread. I think the "Jet Sweep" was "End Around" or "Flanker Around". I can probably pull about 20 plays from memory and I am not making a million a year.

Taking the QB out of the #'s, there were 9 players who ran the ball for Pitt. Only one player ran the ball one time (6 yard carry) the rest got it 2 or more times.

From that game the top rushers were:

........................ CAR .....YDS....TD.....LONG
Q. Henderson......9........107.......0........37
J. Conner............16.........66.......1........27
C. Moss................7.........47.......1........13
N. Peterman.........6.........19.......1.........7
D. Hall..................6.........19.......0.........8

i think you'll see a lot of short dumpoffs to guice, screens off the jet sweep, etc

I think so. Etling really isn't that slow. He could be effective on the ground for sure.

so many thoughts:

1. This compared to our offenses in the past... is like going from 5th grade to freshman year of college. Just a totally different level of complexity and moving pieces. They aren't the same at all. Even the one play out of the I-formation I saw was more sophisticated.

2. Imagine this offense with LF

3. I'm so excited to see my Tigers run this offense

pro set is split backs in a ace formation. pro style is a number of formations/sets.

Look at the ball control stuff in these games. Near fumbles near interceptions. Seems there will be some risks. I hope LSU can play it cleaner than Pitt was.
