You're over-thinking this. This team needs practice and to play more meaningful games (yes, the NIT is meaningful). The team has its flaws, but a NIT appearance--hopefully, a run in the NIT--would be a step in the right direction for the program. It wasn't the expectation at the beginning of the season, but it's better than nothing.
