Sorry if this was already posted and it doesn’t really matter much, but I’m curious about the Heisman Fan Vote. They announced that Penix had won the Fan Vote which was surprising. I voted a good bit and seemed like JD had a sizable lead. Especially over Penix. Did something change last minute?

The consensus was that no one had any idea what he was talking about. They pulled that BS line out of nowhere.

JD had roughly 40% of the fan vote and Jordan Travis was right behind him. Penix was nowhere close.

Yeah, I just found that really strange, but that makes sense. It’s funny because I’m seeing a lot of (crying)UW fans using the fan vote as “evidence” that Penix was robbed. Amusing if nothing else.

Mail in ballots arrived right before it was announced.

Maybe it was awarded to the finalist that didn't win but had the highest fan vote. Speculation.

This may be over the top, but I emailed a few reporters who included the "fan vote" in their articles this morning. I wasn't confrontational or rude, just asked for clarification on where they got their info since the website showed something so different.

This is the reply I got from one:
"The info given to media by ESPN was that Penix won the fan vote, but it didn’t provide anything beyond that. I’m frankly just as confused as you are looking at the fan vote results on the Heisman House website ESPN has up. Maybe it hasn’t been updated?"

I would encourage people to press ESPN, Nissan, and Heisman Trust for some transparency on this.

I was also surprised when that was announced during the broadcast.

Penix was 2% and Nix was 19% so if anything it should go gone to Nix by that logic which would still be bizarre to award the runner up

You can look at their website. Voting is closed is written on the top of the site with the total percentage next to each candidate. Daniels leads with 41% and Travis is second with 28%. Penix is 6th with 2%.

Can someone link the results of the fan vote? I have tried to find it but cannot.

The fan vote counts 1. It’s an incredibly small percentage of the vote. Roughly 800 Heisman voters plus living former winners (maybe 50) and the one Nissan fan vote is (approximately) 1/850 of the entire vote. It’s fun to vote (I did) but very insignificant.

If this vote, which counted as a real vote, could blatantly be altered for the narrative then one has to question Nabors winning fan vote at like an 89% clip was also manipulated. Lost by one vote my arse.

There is no way Penix won the fan vote. Daniels and Travis were way ahead of anyone else
