Nice facilities, National exposure, NFL pipeline, fan interest, tradition I don’t think any of that matters anymore. All things LSU could compete with. NIL is all that matters to vast majority of these top players and LSU simply can’t stack up to that.

You couldn’t be more wrong

If you’re not contributing, then STFU because you really don’t have a clue.

Agree completely. Our financial well just isn't deep enough to take advantage of what we've built the last 20 years. In a level playing field, we are a top 5 destination. Kids today will play for a intramural squad if it offers them more money.

You are wrong. I don’t care what that Oregon Duck blog you linked told you.

Coach Prime doesn’t have bags of money for kids. He just demands better play from his boys and they are buying in. There is t a lot of money for their team. But damn every kid (parent will want to) go to Colorado as he promises discipline and adult preparation for beyond.

I honestly wasn’t a fan but this statement in multiple interviews sold me

“I 100% believe in NIL. If you promote your school or a business you should be paid…but these collectives that just hand a kid a bag before he performs or even steps on the field is just wrong!”

I agree with this statement It’s true in all aspects of life.

BS, it was about defense and an extremely poor offensive scheme.

LSU pays as much or more than all but about 4 or 5 schools.

We also have 3 of the highest earning athletes in college sports on campus. LSU is a massive spotlight. If you can’t get boosters to write a big check then you should at least be able to sell a blueprint to getting paid.

This thread may as well be named “ I hate America”. NIL is everything America is built on. It is the ultimate free market. If you can’t compete, that’s on you. To ask for “something to be done” about a free market is asking for welfare. Do you want to be known as a welfare queen team?

And it’s going to get more obvious/worse. No coming back to love of the game/university. NFL light

I'm not actually knocking NIL. I'm saying that we got a really late start on the collective, and our pool of donors is smaller than many other college fan bases. Our main guys are eventually going to get "donor fatigue" - our collective formed in January has potential to rescue this.

If we had 10,000 donors give 1000 each on average, that's 120k average for every player annually. That puts us in the mix. I think we have the base to accomplish this with our collective, and get this recruiting deficit turned in the right direction. We just got a late start.

NIL will be the end of college athletics
So is NCAA Division I Football now the Minor League of the NFL? If that's where we are, you can have the minor league. I'll take the NFL.
