What is then, who is the most likeable?
That's what the op was asking........

That's less of a debate than who is the better football coach.
Oh I agree... it would get REAL spicey in here with that debate..........

Everyone always says "Saban built LSU into what it is today, Miles just had it handed to him"
But in the immortal words of AC/DC..."Who made who?"
LSU has just as much to do with building his career as his career has to do with building LSU. He was a head coach for what, 15 years before he was hired here? With stints in the NFL? Can you honestly say he was anywhere close to a household name prior to 2000?
He's not the god that everyone makes him out to be...it's not that hard to win at Alabama. They have played the easiest schedule in the SECw for like 14 years straight. They pull a ton of recruits on name alone. Their boosters shell out dough like it's going out of style, and when they get busted, it's swept under the rug.
Saban is a good coach, but I'll keep miles every day of the week.

If you think Les is just an "ok" football coach you're an idiot. He is a great coach who happened to spend most of his career coaching here against arguably the greatest college football coach of all time. If not for Saban, Les would have at least two NCs, possibly a 3rd.
Both are excellent coaches at the tops of their profession. That said, give me Miles every day of the week.

the reason everybody dislikes Saban is because he is now at Alabama; and they are the measuring stick every school is trying to measure up to. Every year I want Alabama & LSU to be undefeated when they play. Then games like 2011 when LSU won-they are so much sweeter.
Geaux Tigers! Beat Bama!

You know this applies to CLM even more than it does Saban right?

You got him every day of the week. And have had him every day of the week for the last 5 years while the other guy has won 3 national titles.

It wasn't the team it was the offer. GM and coach of an NFL team.

That's not the case at all.. The dude had a dream of being an NFL head coach. He went for his dream and it didn't work out. He came back to the college game because he has the CONTROL he wants.... Bama just happened to be the place that wanted him and got him...

Saban vs Miles reminds me of Deion Sanders and Jerry Rice. Both great, but which one do u think enjoyed the ride more?

fricking 10 years later and idiot LSU fans are still obsessed with the previous coach. I wonder is there is another fan base as strange as the one LSU is unfortunate enough to have.
Alabama fans obsessed over a dead coach for 30 years, and somewhat still do, but since Saban has won them a few championships they've relented a bit.

Would not trade Les for Saban under any circumstances.

What about the 20 years of coach flopping they did from Stallings to Saban?
All three of the coaches that actually walked the sidelines after Stallings had a season where they won 10 games (Mike Dubose in 99, Dennis Franchione in 02 & Shula in 05). They weren't consistent enough to keep their job.
One of the interesting things about being the coach at Bama is that, if you can get the job, you will perform better there than anywhere else. In other words, you will win more games than you will anywhere else.
Was Mike Dubose any better than Curley Hallman as a coach? And yet, Dubose has an SEC Championship.
Don't get me wrong, Saban is a great coach. But Bama is a place where bad coaches become good (see above), good coaches become great (Stallings), and great coaches become legendary (Saban).
All that said, I like having Les as our coach.

Miles is an ok football coach but is likeable "
The idea that Miles is an "ok" coach renders your input useless drivel.

I've always maintained that Bama fans obsess and denigrate Miles because of a weird jealousy...we have a great coach, (albeit not as good as Saban) that is extremely likable, nothing but complimentary to the fans, university and the state, never throws the players under the bus etc...
They have a coach who is a prickly a-hole who routinely throws his players and even fans under the bus and is about as likable as a social disease...
I personally prefer Miles...I think a lot of the Bama fans wish their coach was more like Miles...

The 'Bama fans? Sure enough the LSU faithful have done enough of this, but am surprised if this is true of the 'Bama crewe...
