re: Nick Saban claiming he’s done with coaching but let’s remember what the man has said….

At 74 years old, I think id take him at his word, its time to get out of Fantasy Land

Furthermore, he told the players he wasn’t leaving for Miami in the conference room at LSU before they got on the plane.
When they got to their hotel, the players went to their rooms. Saban went to the conference room of the hotel and got on national TV saying he was going to be the next HC for Miami Dolphins.
Tuberville left in the middle of a dinner with recruits to take the Cinncinnati job
Butch Davis denied, denied, denied that he was leaving the UM for the Cleveland (NFL) job, right up to getting on a jet for Cleveland
this is just the way coaches operate, they are liars, deceitful to a fault, snake oil salesmen... sort of like politicians

You can fk all the way off and should be embarrassed.
I guess Vegas is just trolling us huh? Lmao I Fkn said I didn’t think he was coming back but there’s always a possibility. That’s what I said. Learn to comprehend. It’s embarrassing when people take only what they want from a post.
Hell ESPN would love this story. Stop being a close-minded negatiger! It’s ok to say they’re a 5-10% chance he comes back.
I don’t think most LSU fans think there’s a 95% chance of it, but sure they may have some small hope if it’s nothing more than shoving it in the Gump’s faces. You’re a Fkn liar if you say you wouldn’t enjoy it for that reason too!!

And ole Tubberville was both…coach & politician. Lol
So yep, you are 100% correct and Bear Bryant & Nick Saban were two of the biggest liars.
Bear would promise recruits they would start knowing he was going to bench them but didn’t want them to play for anyone else. He is the main reason we have scholarship limitations in CFB today.

Probably so, I just said it’s a small possibility,

yep, I remember those days, I think Bryant has even been on record admitting that he did that, 300 scholarship footballers

You literally said right before the bowl game. It was a full week before.
He told the players he was staying then announced days later (a week before the game) that he was taking the job.
Both can be true, but the timing isn’t right before the bowl game. We all remember the circus and Huizenga putting on the full court press with the Dolphins jet in BR.

quote:There is NO possibility that Saban is coming to LSU.
Do I think there’s a small possibility that he could? Absolutely
There is NOTHING that LSU could offer that Alabama did not offer to keep him . . . where he was already plugged in, hooked up, and completely connected.
Moreover, he does not need the money. Saban is worth about $80 million.
He gets paid multi-millions from "College GameDay"; he makes about $5 million per year from endorsements; and of course, none of this includes his percentage of the $2 billion in revenue from Dream Motor Group
Nick is 74. His father died at 46 from a heart attack. He's not leaving home except to get paid to TALK about football, play golf, and go to mass.

Are you aware that after he said that, Rich Rod was offered the job & accepted it?
That Rich Rod backed out on the Bama job?

Bill Belichick got hired at North Carolina at what? 72?
I thought there was someone else who went back to coaching at 70+ and did well for a decade. But I can't remember the name. It's not working well for Bill, though
Regardless, Saban is done. The man has cemented himself as the best college football coach in the history of the sport. There's nothing left to prove. If the only thing driving him is he wishes he had done more at LSU, then I don't think that's enough for him to start again at 74. At 64? I bet he would.. because there is a part of him that wishes he stayed longer at LSU or never left. But overall I'd say he's pretty satisfied.. obviously that's an understatement..
Let him enjoy his cake..

Again I followed with a comment that I don’t think he’s coming back.
Irrelevant to your argument
quote:
He certainly wouldn’t be the oldest coach to ever coach
Also irrelevant to your argument
quote:
This is a very dumb analogy and not even a fair comparison. Comparing apples to oranges
So now you agree, that it is 2 completely different situations. Glad you can acknowledge that they should each be looked at individually and the conditions of one should not be applied to the other.
quote:
He has said why he wouldn’t go back to the pros.
So now he means what he says?? Because the whole premise of your argument is that he doesn’t mean what he says.
quote:
He has however said more than once that he was leaving a certain place and left.
Oh…. So now he doesn’t mean what he says??

Go watch Justin Vincent’s interview with Jacques Doucet.
He is not the only player to share this.

Not sure why LSU fans are so excited about landing a 74 year-old coach. He'd be gone in a few years and we'd be in the same predicament all over again
Dunno. Maybe because the program was a heck of lot better when Les took over?
Imagine Les coming in after, let's say, Dinardo. Think he would have had the same success?
We've got some rebuilding of character/attitude/culture to do around here. Few are better in changing that in a positive way than Saban.

Lmao like I said watch what Justin Vincent had to say. He was actually there. I’m just repeating what he said.

Huge bama and Saban fan, CNS is done, he has told many, the last year at Bama was his toughest year coaching. He cannot find coaches to run his D system anymore who are any good.

Yea like we care about your biased opinion. Lmao

lol dude you’re petty. He said it a week before that’s very short teem.
The video in my original post of Saban saying he’s not going to be the Alabama coach was on Dec 21st 2006, 2 weeks before they announced him as the new HC at Bama on January 4th, 2007.
Either way that’s very short timing but we know that’s how these things work sometimes. You’re missing my overall point though.
