But the coaching staff had a quiet confidence in Tre'Davious White, the cornerback the Bills drafted with the No. 27 pick in the 2017 NFL Draft. They knew the No. 1 cornerback was still on the roster.

quote:

Every step of the way when he first came here in the offseason all the way into his first game of the preseason, it hasn't been too big for him, the environment, which is unusual for a guy his age. But I think because of where he's come from, LSU being big-time football, I think that contributes to the fact that he's handled it well."

quote:

"I feel like I've done a great job," White said. "I feel like I picked up the defense great. I feel like I'm comfortable and every day I'm getting more and more comfortable in the scheme. I was very blessed enough to come from a place at LSU where they transition us and they mold us to get ready for the NFL and how to transition and how to up your game. You know how it is in the league. LSU players come into the league, and coaches know what they're going to get. Guys who are football smart and have a high football IQ and really play on the field like men."

Really awesome guy too, for those that didn't know.

Smart as hell, very artistic, likes poetry, etc. And a hell of a football player.

I thought I heard that he was valedictorian of his high school class.

Love to see great players also have talents and success off the field.

Tre is a fantastic example of how coming back for your senior year can benefit some players.

Doesn't fit the narrative of this board.

IMO, could've been maybe the best corner tandem ever at LSU had Robinson not got in trouble

Yea I was disappointed with Robinson. Kid had so much raw talent and NFL height to go with him. Him and tre would have been filthy together. And they were for a few games. At least we got a taste of greatness

Tre White made one of greatest plays in lambeau field history. He is a better man than me because I would have done the lambeau leap after that play.

What’s more, White’s overall performance can’t just be measured in what he’s done when targeted. He’s also graded out well overall according to Pro Football Focus Edge as their grades also incorporate coverage snaps when players aren’t targeted. White has graded as the 12th best overall corner in the NFL through two weeks, including being tied as the 16th best in coverage and the ninth best in run defense.

On 10 total targets he's allowed 5 recs for 79 yds. He had 6 tackles against Carolina, 2 of those were for a loss.
