If we could get at least 250 yrds per game, we should win the SEC again.

If we have a comparable running game and D, 230+ passing yards per game should get us all the way.

Please Mett. I'm still hurting from 1/9. Take us home.

Let's not pretend that 13-0 was a reflection of the QB play. Neither one of those 2 deserved to go into last season as the unquestioned 1 and 2 QBs.

Mett could have walked onto the team a week before the season and still would have been a better passer than either could have hoped to be. Newton was on his 3rd offense in as many years and that worked out ok for them. Russell Wilson learned a completely new offense at Wisconsin last year and did just fine. Don't give me that playbook crap.

Mett himself has admitted that he was "goofy" & immature last yr & several of the OL said as much, too, Blackwell in particular. But then, Blackwell has since said that Mett is "the real deal" now, so, last yr is gone, let's look forward, not backwards.

All those wasted snaps on JJ last year. Mett should have been the 1st back up QB to JL.

Thanks for clearing that up.

I'll just ask this, do you honestly believe JJ and Lee were our best options at qb last year?

Maybe not but throwing an inexpierenced QB into a high pressure situation like that is tough to do. Last time we didit, he crushed under the pressure and was never the same (Lee)

If we had lost a game or two early on, I think we would have seen Mett, but the thing is we went 13-0. You dont change QBs if youre winning

This...

Also.. I have never heard a wisp from anyone else actually on the team suggesting Mett was ready to play last year.

End of Discussion!

JL is a terrible comparison, you're talking about a RS fresh who was asked to carry the team because the D was so God awful and not to mention he had crowton coaching him

That may be right but at the same time, why risk it?

We lost one game last season and it was the last one of the season. You could argue that he should have played in the championship game once nothing was working but you cant really argue with 13-0.

Damned if you do and damned if you don't! If Mett has a mediocre year, he will be back for next year. If he has a great year we only have him for one year! That sucks!

Mett only needs to occasionally complete a pass further than 5 yards down field for our offense to be ridiculously scary next year. If he has even an average year, this Tiger team could be a very special one.

Can we just all agree to blast the sec rant when/if he goes for 250 against bama and/or auburn? I can barely go to that board now because of all the hate.

I am a huge Mett guy and think he is going to be phenomenal. But, let's please try to not do the "he would have been just as good last season" based upon an awesome 'this' season.
