I liked that guy.

We might as well forfeit the season because BAMA is back. They are all over magazines and terrorizing the ACC. If we forfeit the season, we would save ourselves the embarrassment of getting crushed by them like the rest of the SEC teams. They could have all year to patch up the city. It's a win-win solution.

Does that mean we would give back the Appy State win, or would we at least finish 1-11?

1-11 sounds right. We are on the decline anyway, and lets face it, our head coach is still a clown.

the game could be played during the day and that would eliminate the need to power the lights. Can't imagine though that power won't be restored at LSU 9 days from now.

If there was a rain storm during the day and it was cloudy, they might still need the lights. There could also be a sudden solar eclipse during the game, making lights necessary as well. A game just cannot be played.

Like has been said already, it isn't just about local electrical power to Tiger Stadium. In any case, I doubt very seriously it won't be restored before next Saturday.

Or at least I hope not, because that would just frick up my holidays.

I'm telling you guys, the power situation in BR is in dire straits, and I really think the North Texas game on Sept. 13 is in jeopardy too.

The key is that we don't know how bad the power issue is. Entergy isn't being specific so I think your suggestion that BR won't be ready for a game next week is reasonable.

The maximum duration of a total solar eclipse is approximately 7.5 minutes. (You could look it up.)Or approximately the time it takes an average SEC officiating crew to determine by instant replay whether the ball should be spotted on the 35 yard line or the 18 yard line. But nice try.

So to recap: No interior lighting, no concessions, and no scoreboard.

Other than that, the stadium is perfectly ready for a game!

Yeah but in that 7.5 minutes, a great deal of looting and other lawlessness could break out in the stands and around the city. Baton Rouge wouldn't want the resources tied up at the game when all the other people around the city needed their assistance in dealing with the fallout.

Well if people don't have these things at home, then they will feel right at home in Tiger Stadium on Saturday.

I think I can deal with this. Given that total solar eclipses tend to be relatively predictable events, timing wise, the police could leave their posts around the stadium, go shoot up the looters, and be back well before the end of the game. As for looting in the stands, well, if you came into Tiger Stadium with anything worth stealing (other than the purple and gold velour jumpsuit with built-in pushup bra your SO is wearing) you deserve to have it ripped off. In fact, even that jumpsuit.....

Getting schools powered up is a high priority so I would be surprised if LSU wasn't powered up by Monday.

I say this not b/c of the game but because of getting classes back on schedule.

after gustav, it would be retarded not to bury the lines while everything is messed up and being rebuilt

while it is probably something that should be done. pretty sure it would take longer to bury the lines rather than put them the way they were.

right now baton rouge needs power. taking extra time is not an option.
