I don't think anybody hates O. How could we? Some people are disappointed that we didn't end up with a high profile coach, myself included.

What? After Jimbo and Herma4 said no there were, literally, dozens of coaches with better resumes and more qualified than Ed Orgeron.

If its so obvious and common knowledge, provide a link. Such an obvious and clearly stated qoute should be easy to link.

9 - 3 next year ought to be a disapointment. There are four filler wins ooc. Going 5 - 3 in conference isn't really demonstrating any sort of excellence. The west (obviously outside of Alabama) is pretty much in full rebuild mode.
If LSU is losing to the likes of down Florida, Arkansas, Ole Miss, or A&M programs then we are just trading one under-achieving regime for another.
10 - 2 in the regular season ought to be the baseline for expectations. That allows one loss to someone we should beat and a probable loss to Alabama. Better than that would be an improvement. Worse than that would be worse.

How about LSU couldn't and wouldn't of found a better coach for LSU it's self. The man loves this place for the sake of the name, not money or noteriety, simply because he loves LSU and Louisiana.
That's being said he will make great decisions for LSU and go to bat for LSU no matter what. He has a passion that no coach could have brought NONE. This will make his decision making better then any other coach we could have gotten. He also has a killer instinct talks truths and honestly wants what's best for LSU. Any other coach LSU is just a job, not the case for Ed O. What matters in any sport?? The name and resume of a coach or winning/losing?? If the man wins then it looks like he actually was very much qualified for the job!!!

What?
Lsu couldn't have found a better coach than one whom has never had success as an offensive coordinator, defensive coordinator,or head coach?

So do a lot of people. Doesnt make them a good hire.

Holy shite.
So his passion and love for lsu makes his decision making better than of Saban or meyer were at lsu?
Come the frick on.

Wins, losses and the ability to win titles.

Huh...
Are you serious?
Winning and losing.
Also O doesnt have a great resume.

The way he nega recruited LSU while at Ole Miss, Tennessee, and USC doesn't speak to him prioritizing LSU over his own immediate interests. The Janzen and McKnight recruitments especially revealed he wouldn't just compete, he would attempt to sabotage LSU's efforts in particular. That's fine in the world of recruiting, but it renders retarded an argument that he loves LSU more than anything else.
Posted on 1/2/17 at 12:23 am to Rickdaddy4188
Maybe Alleva and LSU felt that his resume wasn't the deciding factor but the fact that despite what everyone says about him he's very misunderstood and judged unfairly off of an OM record over a decade ago. Could it be possible that Alleva looked at what he did under all the pressure here at LSU and USC and said this guy has what LSU needs, a passionate coach that loves the game and will work tirelessly to get the best players here at LSU then let his assistants do their job. Coach o knows enough about football to build a championship program, especially at LSU you know the same place he grew up. All that passion and energy he has for LSU will spill over into this program then recruits nationwide will come on their visits and feel it also because it will be REAL. These guys like REAL. You idiots have it all wrong. Was there a better resume out there frick yeah but was their a better HC for LSU i don't think so. Everyone seems to be happy nowa days except a few idiot fans but they will all come around once the winning starts which is kinda sad. LSU needs to flush those fans that will turn on LSU on a dime.

Agree. Dont think folks hate O, but think the hate is misplaced to Aleva because Herman turned out to be a moron. He chose a program based on emotion and nostalgia.... dumb. Kissing grown men should have been a red flag in retrospect.
Fisher used us after the shite show last season. Touche
We got the best fit of the rest.

His resume at his last two stops are pretty damn good and sometimes that isn't all that matter bud. You can have an amazing resume but I wouldn't hire you simply bc you seem like a dick.

Really?
There are too many to name.
Any offensive or defensive coordinator that has successfully ran a side of the ball or a head coach that has successfully ran a program.
All of those coaches.

Start reeling off all those names that understand LSU and could come in here and feel at home under the pressure of our fans. Not one coach in that list would have guaranteed LSU a damn thing. So what's the point of arguing this? Oh I know because your an a-hole
Posted on 1/2/17 at 12:36 am to Rickdaddy4188
Thats what I though stfu then

Then let him prove himself at a lesser program. Lsu is the type of program that needs a top notch coach. We play in the most talent rich division in cfb
Also id really like to know what Orgeron has done to make people believe he was judged unfairly?

If he did then he is dumb.
At both interim tenures he didnt run the offense or the defense, he didnt choose the staff, and he didnt choose the schemes.

Coach o knows enough about football to build a championship program,
Holy shite. If he knows enough to win championships, why wasnt he getting other offers.
Id also like to hear you explain how you know Orgeron knows how to win championships when he has never ran a successful offense, defense , or program.
So now a 55 year old career dline coach is this misunderstood HC that can win national titles?
quote:
s there a better resume out there frick yeah but was their a better HC for LSU i don't think so.
Again, how the hell is orgeron the best coach for LSU when he never shown he can successfully run a program?

Wanting a more qualified hire than ed orgeron doesnt make someone an idiot.
