Will they still have to sit out a year?

oh I’m not playing? I will be out and go to Bama and see you next year then

So they aren't getting playing time where they are but transferring to Bama is going to fix that?

Conferences have the ability to add their own set of rules that are more strict. I have a feeling the SEC will implement a much more strict set of rules at the behest of Alabama / Saban.

Glad we got Burrow when we did.

He probably would not have considered LSU otherwise, but I'm pretty sure he is happy with how it has turned out so far.

Conferences, however, still can make rules that are more restrictive than the national rule.

The new rule is no good with conference rules: Bama players can't transfer to LSU and vice versa. It's essentially nothing change with a restrictive conference rule in place.

I also believe the SEC will add multiple addendums to this which will dull this rule down quite a bit.

I disagree. The SEC's commissioner actually wants more aggressive change in favor the student athlete. He was a big proponent of the grad transfer rule with in the conference. LINK /

Wait til conference hcs lobby to put a restrictive transfer rule within a conference, the commissioner would say no transfer within a conference.

Dear God. What a clusterF this will be . I can’t even imagine the turnover and the bad blood between schools that will come from this.

Yeah the SEC will probably add a provision that REC gets final say on transfers.

If anything this will hurt Alabama the most.

Exactly, which is why Nick Saban has been so adamantly opposed to it and an outspoken critic of the rule.

I think the best we will get from the SEC is no transfer within division.. LSU player could go to Tenn but not Bama type thing. And that's the best hope in my opinion. I fully expect them to say no transfer in the conference at all. You can transfer anywhere outside of it.
