You come here for answers, why don't you contact the school with direct questions for direct answers instead of grandstanding on a web site? Wouldn't that make sense?

What kind of person do you think a selection by all alumni would give us?
Possibly another celebrity related outcome?

You mean the Alumni Association that just got rid of a crooked president recently while leaving all of the other pieces intact, including that president’s ex-DIL?... No thanks. I’m good.

Governor appoints.

The Governor of Louisiana is about as constitutionally constrained as the dictator of Cuba, i.e. he has virtually absolute power.

I don't get why the OP is getting downvoted; I'll take it even further - the governor and rest of the state government should have one seat at most. The decisions at LSU should be made my alumni, successful employees (Skip should absolutely have a seat), and students.

It should absolutely be parochial, and everything about LSU would be better if we could make the state government GTFO

Golfer. Yes that is a fact. But it’s not unreasonable for someone other than the Governor to have an appointee or two. I don’t have a problem with the way it is now. Just wanted to make sure that his point was understood.

More importantly is people need to understand elections matter and we can correct this problem of leadership in our state and at our flagship university at the polls beginning October 12 , 2019 . It’s literall less than two years away. And all of the morning and groaning can be fixed. How many of these folks on this page voted for JBE and how many will in 2019 and then complain about the leadership we have at LSU
