Okay, so you have nothing to offer on how to get the appointment process changed for a seat.
If your goal really was to find out how to change the LSU BoS appointment process you would have just googled it.

That's what I just did and the first link from the search says the BoS is a constitutional board. The governor appoints & the state senate confirms the appointments.

So, to change the appointment process requires a state constitutional amendment.

The LSU BOS is all political appointments correct? What would be the process to get the Alumni Association a seat? As in, what mechanism would be required to change that bylaw, legislation... what have you.. Is this something the Louisiana State Legislature would have to vote on? Could the measure be petitioned?
I've asked this question for many years.

The LSU BOS should be 100% LSU graduates with LSU interests first and foremost or it should be just totally abolished completely.

At minimum, in athletic matters and hiring decisions of coaches, the BOS should be completely removed from the equation. (University President too)

Leave the coach hiring decisions to the AD. That takes most of the "Good Ole Boy Luziana Politics" out of it. (Most, not All) Of course, that would require a competent decision making AD. (LSU does not currently have one of those that sits on the LSUAD throne)

TigerBaitLawyer........What would be the correct legal process of initiating this type of action? (Having the board abolished, making it 100% LSU Grads and/or removing it from coaching hire approvals)

Golfer. The question he raises is legit. The current way they are serving the governor and not the alumni. Just cause you went there doesn’t mean yo are gonna do the right thinking as opposed to kissing arse to the governor to get reappointed.

The LSU System is a Flagship research instution that serves multiple purposes for the State of Louisiana, well beyond it's Alumni. Thus, the reasoning for the Board of Supervisors being gubernatorial appointments by regional districts.

I think starting with getting 1 to 3 seats appointed by the Alumni in someway would be the best 1st step in remediating the funk that has infested LSU's leadership.

So coaches contracts would be voted in favor 13-3 instead of 16-0?

Since the school serves the Alumni as well as the state, a few Alumni appointed seats would be justified.

The System serves many people, institutions, companies, and governments. Lets give everyone a seat!

Okay. Any vote for that matter.

You're clearly disturbed by the thought of the alumni having some BOS appointments.

No. I think its just a dumb idea to have some appointed member from the Alumni Association (would likely be their board president) on the BoS just to say the "alumni have a voice".

Worried about losing pop's suite in Tiger Stadium?

For the record, Board of Supervisors members do not have their own suites.

It would be who the Alumni democratically vote for.

The Alumni that have the lowest participation rate of donations to their University in the SEC would participate in a vote for a BoS member?

The point I'm trying to make, is that if the Alumni want to impact change throughout the LSU System, there are better ways than getting a Board of Supervisors seat.

As a consequence of their lack of trust in leadership... Why would anyone donate to an institution that has the internal issues of LSU without having a say in how to fix the problem?

LSU has had the lowest participation rate in the SEC while the golden children of LSU Presidents, Mark Emmert and Sean O'Keefe, were leading the University; and our athletic teams were nationally prominent.

The participation rate has actually gone up with FKA at the helm and the majority of the current BoS.

It’s Louisiana politics dude. Just forget about it. There isn’t no process. It’s just a cesspool.

They have access to the University Suite, which is basically just a large club area with about 200+ guests of the University for each game. They don't have their own suites, like you claimed.

And there's nothing swanky about it

Classic, sensationalistic journalism.

Golfer that's what I was trying to say last night. You just said it better.

If the AlumniAssociation wants, they could become more than what they have been, but they lack the leadership.

To add a 16th member, I believe you’d have the change the Louisiana State Constitution.

To leave the BOS at 15 members, but add one person from the LSU Alumni Association, first a current members term would need to expire. Then you’d have to get someone who pledges to represent the Alumni Association and convince the Governor to appoint you to allow the Louisiana State Senate to vote you in.

Good luck with that.

The student rep is a rep of a Louisiana school. This year in fact the student does not attend LSU to my knowledge.
