But our team ran for 276 yards and that was like totally 100% due to TJ. South Carolina is a power house and his stats are deceiving.

yea, there’s never been a team where the backup was actually better than the starter.

So let’s just keep our head down and keep going with Brennan.

Why we haven’t done some of the quicker throws and zone schemes with Brennan is a coaching issue. Not a player issue.

I think I agree with your premise, but Finley played great. He was much better than I thought he would ever be in his very first game. I thought he had zero mobility which opened everything up.

Of course we shouldn’t be trying to unseat the starter just because the backup is also effective, but it’s hard not to be excited about having a legitimate second option, which is more of the feeling I’m getting from the board.

He’s not.

Brennan, in games 2 and 3, was dead on accurate. Finley’s accuracy is too inconsistent outside of 20 yards

Brennan has not looked great. He was not ready for ms st. He can sling it but the second he gets pushed out the pocket the play is over.

The Missouri loss he looked good but it was a loss to Missouri and we had the ball at the end.

If you look at the box score from a distribution of the football, Brennan has been good. The only issue is with this offense is with Brennan there is zero threat to run by the QB. That’s a loss of one of your potential weapons.

honestly he just looked like a QB that you could put the team on his back and he will bring you home a championship. Brennan may be a better passer at this point but he still looks like a scared church mouse in comparison.

Tom Brady says Hi

As physically gifted as any of the other all time greats? Nope. Better arm than Montana? Legs than, well, anyone? Nope. But the guys wins.

The kid came out and played well enough for LSU to win the game. I’d hope LSU fans would be happy about that

I dont recall them calling any runs for him like they did for Finley.

Also dont recall the line playing good.

Anyone else mentioning dropped passes in the first two games compared to Finleys game?

The fact that LSU scored 41 points on Missouri and lost the game seems to go over a lot of people's heads. Offense was not the problem vs Missouri. The defense giving up 45 was the problem. It should NEVER have come down to the last play of the game. That was totally on the D.

Running the ball isn’t Brennan’s or Finley’s strength. Finley lumbered last night. Johnson actually looked best running.

To be clear, Finley looked great. Particularly for a true freshman.

But he didn’t show me anything to make me think he’s a better option than Brennan. And people saying he can run better than Brennan is hilarious. He’s just a monster of a person and can therefore maybe get you a tough yard. But Brennan can do the same if the o line does what it did last night.

So good for TJ and the Tigers. Glad to have a back up that is able to do what he did. I think that speaks volumes to the scheme and the coaching too considering where we’ve been in years past.

And yeah, Orlovsky thought Burrow was a hack so listening to him on these hot takes is idiotic. He did a decent job as analyst otherwise. But he’s a Cowherd-esque hot take specialist. And it’s terrible.

Wish you could see the vote results from my previous post. About 75% of the rant wanted Brennan to be the starter, so wtf are you referring to?
