Neither one of Mulkey's assistants at Baylor got the Baylor job...

Baylor has hired a coach from the WNBA Nicki Collen. Let’s see it’s Brock and Messer joins KM staff.

Brock might not. He is up in age, not sure he would want to move away from his family and grandkids
Messer seems more likely on the other hand unless she gets a HC job elsewhere.

This is what the Baylor people were speculating before their new coach was even announced. They think Messer will only be here a year or two before trying to get her own head coaching position.
Either way it will be good for Mulkey to have her here as she is supposedly her recruiting ace.

Mulkey said she told Makenzie to stay in Waco and have her baby and to see what happens from there. Mulkey said Makenzie would have a job if she ever wanted it. But for now it seems as if she is staying in Waco

9295, you and I may not share the same opinions on some things (DD) but I truly appreciate your knowledge in WBB, SB, Gym etc. thanks for keeping up with it all for many of us...

I still think they should bring in Temeka Johnson as the last assistant. She can do the selling of what it's like to live and be on campus and wear that jersey and can learn from one of the all time greatest coaches on how to run a program.

I love Temeka and all she did as a player; but I'm not sure that now would be the right time for her to come on staff.
This hire has to be a replacement for Bill Brock and what he did for Mulkey. From reading some of the Baylor boards Brock was Mulkey's most trusted assistant for the x's and o's of the game and for scouting/in-game coaching. Don't quite think Tameka is ready for that.

Yes.
Some people have the biggest infatuation with former players just sliding in and becoming big-time coaches right on the spot.
If the hiring was done by some of the dipshits on this board, the baseball coach would be Blake Dean or Todd Walker right now.
