SEC pitching tough for true freshmen not named Crews or Morgan to hit.

Time to give a vet like Travinski some ABs.

Milazzo should start tomorrow.

Neal has caught a lot of innings. Give him a break and let Milazzo take his shot.

On top of that his understanding of the strike zone isn’t as good as he thinks it is

WTF? How do you know how good he thinks it is?

I think Neal's biggest issue at the plate is just flat out swinging and missing. I know that seems obvious, but he truly swings at good pitches for him to hit but just misses them.

It’s funny that you put it that way, because I have a young nephew who pitched for LSU, and is well known by LSU fans, and he was watching Neal bat one time, and he told me, “That guy just has a hole in his bat.”

It sounds like the same thing you are saying.

Neal gives us a professional at bat according to JJ. I’m still trying to figure out how a college player much less a freshman does that.

Neal and freshmen josh smith are similar IMO. Lots of warning track balls, gets deep into counts, just learning the strike zone at this level, some good gap balls mixed in

This is a good point and probably JJ’s reasoning for getting him the bulk of the reps.

The upside is there. They’re just hoping he figures it out by the time post season comes around. I’ve been a big Neal > Milazzo guy. But, imo, if the tournament started today, Milazzo would be my pick to start.

That USC catcher was putting on a clinic on how to frame pitches. Neither Neal or Milazzo do a very good job of that.
