Why not just run through the ball and catch it? It’s more impressive than a fake dive

I agree he didnt need to. But ill give you a couple reasons
1 slows you down quicker lol
2 allows you to reset your eyes if your vision is getting shaky while you run (diving does)

Lead off walks after the 5th inning score 82.45% of the time in midweek games since 1982.

This umpires zone is one that can only be described as “fluid”

Bull. shite. Guys were throwing strikes that Cade was dropping or framing and having called balls.
Pitchers were missing spots. Pitchers were spiking fastballs. I’m not sure if you ever played catcher. I did. Trying to block up a 95 mph outside fastball is a lot easier said than done.

That isn’t to say Cade did fine. He had a bad night and missed quite a few. But to say the pitchers had nothing to do with it is silly

Dude we walked in runs with the bases loaded I don’t want to hear about his frame jobs

Do you not understand that most balls not in the middle of the zone require the catcher to catch the ball the right way in order for it to be a called strike?

It's not even framing. It's simple receiving. I'm sure he just got in his own head there, because he's not as bad as he showed tonight, but he couldn't do anything right.

I will be the first to pile on a catcher, but we have hit 4 batters tn? Let’s not act like pitching hasn’t been a part of the problem

The fluid I would compare it to is shitwater.

Now would be a good time for Jake Brown to hit his first HR of the season

We have 5 games this week and had 5 games last week. Hernandez can’t catch all of them. Sucks but that’s the reality of what’s going on

Absolutely. And I’ve been very critical of Cade tonight. But he needs to continue to get innings in midweek games. For his development as well as taking innings off of Hernandez.

100%

He's a heart of the order guy in the future. Needs to keep being the midweek (at least) catcher to keep improving.

He has, like LSU, been horribly inconsistent tonight.
