With the win, and the Sun Belt's automatic bid, the Ragin' Cajuns (45-6) secured the program's 19th consecutive NCAA Tournament appearance and 27th overall in the last 28 seasons. Louisiana will continue to be part of a group – which included nine schools at the start of the season – that has appeared in each NCAA Tournament since 2000.

I don't know, the last time it happened was in 2013. The offense wasn't as good as it has been more recently, but it was much improved over 2012 and any of the previous Girouard years.

McNeese is going to win the Baton Rouge regional and all the Cajun fans will lose their minds.

so making supers the last two years versus WCWS is far less successful? then WCWS year before that when LSU did not?

doesn't matter. facts are facts i posted. ULL beat LSU the year after beths first WCWS appearance. Yeah Brittany MAck and I talked personally about her not getting run support in 2012? so what? doesn't change the facts they still made the WCWS in 2012 and then Brit graduated and fico was beaten in the regional year after 1-0 if i recall score correctly. I could make same excuse for ULL that game. oh well they hit poorly that game blah blah blah. Instead of that I will give rachele credit for great pitching as well as ULL.

this one won't be too easy for the Cajuns. McNeese is very good and I think this year is the year that LSU can upset the lady Cajuns to advance.

This one is never easy for me. I have graduate degrees from both institutions.
So which of my alma maters should I root for ... McNeese or Fairfield?
Lol.

There's no doubt that the SEC has some talented teams this year, but if Ole Miss finished in 8TH PLACE in the conference, there's absolutely NO reason they're deserving of a host site, regardless of what they did in the SEC tournament. I get the fact that they beat some quality teams there, but their RPI wasn't even in the top 16. This is just my opinion, but Minnesota and ULL were just as deserving to host as Ole Miss or Kentucky.
1) Ole Miss had an RPI around 20 before the week. The RPI that the committee used has them at 18. They certainly got seeded much higher than their RPI.
2) ULL didn't "deserve" to host. Strength of schedule was just too low. I get that you can't control what conference you are in, but you CAN control who you play out of conference. ULL played a weak non-conference schedule and almost all of it was played at home.

On a more serious note ... the Tigers are swinging the bats well right now, but Howard's scattershot hitting approach goes up against Lotief's effective hitting system.
LSU has the pitching to neutralize the Cajuns' hitting, but they had better be on.
And the converse is true. UL's offense can rough up any pitching staff in the country.

UL-Lafayette will win this regional. As usual, LSU has more talent but the ULL lesbo pipeline from Texas will be ultra motivated to play LSU.

I hope we can get >80% Season Ticket holder requests for regional tix. The major things UL-Lafayette fans are talking about on the forums are 1.) how there are going to take over Baton Rouge and sweep, and 2.) how LSU used the "wrong logo" on the Softball landing page. A lot of preemptive butt hurt about ESPN not using what they think is their correct name, abbreviation, logo, nickname, etc... smh.

LSU fans need to get tickets to this. The last thing any of us want is for Tiger Park to be over-run with ULL fans. And I don't want to belittle their entire fan base. There are a lot of decent ULL softball fans who want to come and have a good time and support their team and who don't give a shite what name their team goes by, but just like any fan base, they WILL have a segment who will ride over on their 4-wheelers wearing their "Louisiana's Rajun Cajuns" shirts that they bought at Wal-Mart and show up just to be assholes. I have seen it happen before....and would like to avoid seeing it again.

Must be a lot of USL fans coming over to this board because I'm seeing more downvotes for every positive LSU post than there have ever been for LSUashlyn's or educote's rants... lol
