Says must allow 10 seconds to run off play clock before snap. Freeze and Malzahn not happy.

Saban is full of shite. Can't beat it, change the rules

Saban gets what Saban wants.

I'm actually okay with this. As someone else states on another board "all the rule changes, lately, have favored the offenses. How about one for the defenses, for a change?"

This better be a joke.

They continue with the most asinine rules year after year.

It makes no sense. You can't snap the ball before 29 seconds left unless it's the final 2 minutes of the half.
So if you're down 2 scores with 4 minutes left you can't go as fast as you can? Just idiotic reasoning.

it's only 11 seconds and it doesn't apply to the last 2 minutes. it's about substitution more than time.
what happens on an incomplete pass? the clock doesn't start until the ball is snapped anyways. a team can run pretty much the same amount of plays, they just can't screw up the defensive substitutions for 11 seconds.

This guy, after watching an Oregon game, saw they only snapped the ball 4 times with more than 30 seconds on the clock. Seems like 29 is just right.

So what's the point of the rule then?

I cant imagine that a ton of times they snap within ten seconds. 15 I can see but 10 just seems too quick

I'm not really sure, other than to guarantee that a defense will be able to substitute.
Auburn faked plenty of people out this year by rush by rushing up to the line and then not snapping the ball immediately. Giving them time to see the defense and not allowing the subs to actually come in.

Exactly. Defenses have to get their conditioning up and coaches have to coach and manage the game better.

If youre permitted to do it in the last 2 minutes of a game, you should be permitted to do it all game.
BS rule.
BS rule.

Isn't Troy Calhoun one of the coaches in 2011 that voted Oklahoma State like #11 in the final poll that allowed Alabama to play LSU?
Now he is supporting Saban to slow down an Auburn offense, which is his complaint. He never came out after the Ole Miss game saying anything I believe.
Seems Calhoun is loving on Saban some more.

RichRod giving them hell:
