I don't think it matters what happens in the Big 10. Michigan State has teh highest RPI of any of them at 84. No one is really close to at large range.

You're right. After adding the RPI's, I went back and revised the contenders and removed teams that are well into the 100's in RPI.

is the big 12 the conference with the stupid tourney format that guarantees every team at least 3 games or something? If not, then TTech is circling the drain.

best case scenario for the SEC tourney is for Georgia to win this game and lose tomorrow.

that means auburn is 500 can make tourney

Georgia below .500 can't get in

The Big 12 went back to a normal bracket format this year. ACC and CUSA still use pool play.

LSU is getting a gift with Auburn out and now Georgia is likely out as well

Can't count on this good fortune every year but we'll take it

Personally, I think we would have gotten in even with Auburn and Georgia both qualifying. Certianly doesn't hurt though. Ole Miss might turn out to be the real beneficiary in all this.

Agree 100%. With an RPI of 23 and such a weak bubble, I was pretty confident. With Auburn and Georgia out, now there is no doubt.

ETA-assuming Georgia doesn't win 2 more of course

We are 36-20 with an RPI of 23. LSU didn't have a bad season this year. Inconsistent? Sure. But certainly not what I would call a disappointment.

I'd call it a decent sized disappointment, our expectations aren't to make regionals, its to host them

yes I have to agree I hope we can turn it around next season. I think we will but there is the fear we won't.

That 4-14 stretch was certainly a disappointment. But we started and finished very well. Overall I'd say it was a "meh" regular season. But I reserve disappointment for teams that aren't postseason contenders.

Starting pitching will be great.

It's just going to come down to how we hit with runners on base. That was our huge thorn in the side this year.

I'd say relief pitching will also be a question mark, we need a couple of guys to step up, if not some of the incoming guys

Agreed, honestly I think it will have to be the incoming guys. But I do think we would be more of a 40-16 record team, on the bubble of hosting this year with hitting with RISP and proper baserunning. Think of how many baserunners we stranded in some of those close losses.

I don't think LSU has too much to worry about at this point.

They aren't taking only 6 teams from the SEC.

Just pointing it out that they could very well steal a bid.
