That's ridiculous to compare the two. Mickey's ceiling is much higher and he could improve in college. JOB is at his ceiling.
Mickey is averaging roughly the same numbers this year as he did last year at this time. He's a 6'8" PF with good leaping ability and a nice mid-range jumper. He's undersized for a NBA 4 though. Plus he's not a great ball-handler or 3 point shooter. That's not going to change significantly with one more year of college.
Sure he can improve, but why not do it with NBA coaching while on a NBA roster making NBA money, instead of on a college team with avg coaching earning zero dollars? Just like JOB last season, I don't think one more year vaults him from a 2nd rounder to a sure-fire 1st round pick. If you're going to find yourself in the same position next year, why not go now?

That same money will be there one more year later. Sorry, but these college athlete's at LSU aren't "struggling" to get by. They sure as heck aren't paying for tuition and meals.
It's a loser's mentality to not care about winning, and only care about getting a pay check. And as long as LSU has players only counting days until they can get drafted, that's exactly what we will be.
Not saying that Mickey and Martin are "counting the days", just replying to Alt26's flippant attitude towards mediocre players jumping to the draft.

Possibly. Hopefully. But there are no guarantees.

Absolutely not. But they aren't making $600K either

I don't think they don't care about winning. In fact, there's been nothing to indicate that they don't at LSU. However, at some point college is going to come to an end. Selfishly, as a fan of LSU I would love for all great players to stay the full 4 years. The reality is, mediocre or not, if someone is willing to pay a kid a 6 figure salary at 19-20 years old it's selfish for me to say they should turn down that money just because I want to enjoy watching them play on my favorite team for 1-2 more years.

Only "first" round contracts are guaranteed! 2nd rounders have to make the team...

They may believe they are ready but if they are smart they will come back and compete for a championship. If they go pro neither one will play 15 mins a game as a rookie but if they stay they get 30+ a game.

Both are Tweeners. Too undersized to play the 4 but neither is a good enough ball handler or quick enough to play the 3. I think they'll both be role players that are good enough to be on NBA rosters and spotty starters similar to Brandon Bass and Big Baby. They can have long lucrative careers but if they really want to be part of something special, they could come back next year and team up with Ben Simmons to form one of the most talented teams in the nation. It just depends on what their personal goals are.

Martin is a legit 6'10''

All depends on what mock you look at, some have Martin in 1st, Mickey in 1st, either in the 2nd and some not being drafted
Basically they mean nothing at the moment. If they both continue to play like they have recently I think they both leave. They will only shoot up draft boards.
