He probably felt he needed to go get some snaps to develop, and the staff didn’t have the leeway to let them QBs develop on the field.

Which is fair. Coaches with more wiggle room can let a young QB take his lumps. O needs to win now.

He's a college QB, if he doesn't know what to do by now then he better start studying for that degree!

every single coach in America wants a QB who's ready to play.

What's shocking about it?

He said in the interview that the staff wanted a QB who was ready right NOW and he felt they were going in different directions. When you're sitting behind two guys with at least 2 years of eligibility left each, it's unlikely you'll have the time in practice that is necessary to improve as much as you'd like.

The only way Narcisse's statement makes any sense is that he is admitting he is not "ready to play" and that he has no faith in the coaches at LSU that they can get him "ready to play."

That does not bode well for Brennan or any other freshman QB who comes here. I guess we need to just constantly be ready to scoop up all the UGA an OSU QB cast-offs as long as O is HC.

So maybe Narcisse did an inventory of his skills and where he needs to be and determined that he can't make any progress with this level of instruction.

this may very well be true, but I dont think Narcisse knows that. And we dont know what kind of QB development this staff provides. But we do know that soon after spring, Coach O mentioned that 1 or 2 qbs would probably be leaving. Its a depth chart issue more than anything.

It really comes down to this: In a “I want it, and I want it now” generation, Narcisse didn’t want to wait his turn. I think he has the talent to be a really good QB but wants on the field right now.

In his defense, how do you get better and improve if you don't ever play? This kid only has 5 years or so to get it done. I applaud him for believing in himself and moving on to finding a better fit for his skills and abilities.

I've gone through this with my 10 year son's AAU basketball coach with playing the same 5 or 6 kids over and over. The kids who are getting the reps are the ones developing and nothing absolutely nothing take the place of being under fire in game situation. I understand there's a big difference between little league and college athletics, but the premise remain the same in that he needs to play in order to grow and develop. You won't improve sitting on the damn sideline. That lesson is valid with anything in life, football is no different.

O is on a short leash. He has to have a battle-ready QB or he'll be on hot seat soon. He got no time to train or develop QB.

What? To teach these kids to be patient and wait for their shot?

"We were just on two different pages They wanted a quarterback who was ready to play. we were moving in two different directions.”

Of course they do.

Why all the down votes? A 6 or 7 win season and O keeps his job

The guy has been here one year. And that was a redshirt year spent trying to recover from his injuries. He hasn’t played in almost 3 years and you want to say he s not getting developed? Good lord if a QB would stay at a school in the system for a couple of years he would have time to develop. Narcisse was there barely enough time to learn where the bathroom was.

Book it - LSU does not have the money to pay Miles, Orgeron and his staff then Alleva for doing nothing but sitting on their a-- laughing at LSU for giving them powerball terminations.

So he's acknowledging that he isn't ready to play but yet moving on because they are starting somebody who is? I guess there is no pleasing Narcisse.

I agree with you on that. Meaning he wasnt getting the so called quality reps. And thus I have no problem with Narcisse leaving if he feels that way. But if you were just bashing the quality of the offensive coaching, then I dont agree. Narcisse has no clue what would happen in his 4 years of eligibility. He left because he was 3rd on the totem pole. Understandable, And I hope he is successful wherever he lands.
Weren't a whole lot of posters throwing eFits over the equal splitting of reps Monday?

How the hell is he gonna get developed when he bolts after one season? I don't think he is the only player on the roster that needs time to develop and others on the depth chart are more developed. Narcisse would only see the field this year if the staff implemented plays specifically designed to compliment his abilities. But, if he can't beat out Brennan for the starting job next season, I'd be willing to bet Parish will be that change-of-pace QB next season. Peter Parish, kinda has a ring, like Peter Parker, hum, Spiderman. QB Peter Parish aka Spiderman, or better yet, Spidertiger. I LIKE IT!!!

I think the most relevant thing he said was that there were going to be packages for him in the red zone and he wanted to be a total QB, not just a rushing QB.

I get his point, but getting guaranteed playing time as a redshirt freshman QB after not playing the past two years is a pretty damn strong opportunity. If he’d taken that opportunity to get on the field and built up the coaches’ trust in him, I think he could’ve been the backup this season and would’ve given himself a strong chance to challenge for the starter position next year, as a redshirt sophomore.

Most QB’s would take you up on that offer at any school.
