Do we really claim him? Serious question. Did he not have better stats at little brother, whose shite we kicked in tonight?

can't find any baseball stats for him at LSU, only football, but he played very little baseball at ULL. He only had 26 at bats there due to his military obligations. But of course we claim him.

Boy if Chad Jones had played baseball full time for 3 years at LSU - who knows?
Name from past:
Who's the player from Chalmette who had a clutch hit to beat 55-5 Texas A&M AT College Station Regional to go to Omaha? (We had to beat them TWICE.) I think he caught the final out too. Hawthorne went nuts :) Think it was '89 ?

Mickie Mahtook. Just the way he was the heartbeat of the team.

Gregg Patterson - Think he won first CWS game for the Tigers. Could straight up deal on the bump.

This thread has reminded me that Kurt Ainsworth, while not the greatest pitcher we've ever had, is the most forgotten great pitcher we've ever had.
8 pages and his name hasn't come up. People forget that he was a nasty dealer for LSU. Shame that injuries derailed his career in MLB, but it did lead him to start Marucci.

As far as a college player there aren't many in the same category as Furniss. His name is all over the LSU and SEC record books. In my opinion he had the greatest career overall at LSU.

Uh, Eddie Furniss maybe.

Brandon Larsons 40 jacks is still the shite..
The Riot and Fontenot up the middle was a super tandem. both started for the cubs at the same time.
Cresse was a man amongst boys, worked with him at Marucci
Bregman is still all-time favorite.
Deichman and Matt Clark are very similiar
Furniss was Miss St. version of Will clark
Blair Barbier was a dude
And Warren Morris has the biggest hit of them all..
