Did you think the same of JaMarcus (like every other ranter) prior to the 2006 season?

NO.

You will not find a more optimistic LSU Tiger fan than I am, but I also have seen this story before. Last time the coach was named Tepper and it didn't get better with his defense. This time the coach is named Crowton. Miles better hurry up and decide if he wants to continue coaching at LSU and fire Crowton or ride the Titanic mistake of keeping him and lose his job next year when we go something like 7-5 or 6-6.

They won't accept it.

Compare JJ and JRoc's sophomore stats.

I know. I remember this thread from a while back.

Whipch is hilarious since Herb couldn't hit the broad side of a barn on alot of throws

uh, Tyler was a 60% passer. Higher than Jones, Mauck, Davey just to name a few. And he had far more attempts than all of those I just listed. So he couldn't throw the deep ball...puts him in the same boat with Jefferson.

Also, he threw for almost 6000 yds and 40 tds in his career.

This is not to say Herb would be confused with Danny Wuerfel, but people always act like we threw the ball 4-5 times a game when he played.

The question was expectations.

Nobody had high expectations for Herb. We sucked when he took over.

And still he didn't have better stats than Jefferson until his Senior year.

Less than 6000 yards and 40 tds isn't good for a 4 year starter. I loved Herb but he was a bad passer still a gutsy qb though.

He was pretty good on a couple of deep balls I saw on Friday. Two deep balls that went straight through TT and RR's hands. What more do you want out of the deep ball?

What expectations were there for Herb in his FR and SO seasons?

why does it even have to be an LSU qb. there have been lots of really successful freshman and sophomore quarterbacks. jefferson just didnt have it this year and i don't think he will next year. its not too late to make him a defensive back

Give me your list then hot shot. In the history of college football there have been a shitload of QBs. You can count on two hands the number of fresh/soph QBs that have won anything meaningful. I'm willing to give JJ one more year.

Crowton has said recently that there are “too many weapons,” on the LSU roster, and that sometimes it's hard to get guys going

I can understand what he's saying. Last week I went duck hunting, and when I got to my blind I realized I brought my .410 instead of my 12 gauge. I couldn't hit a thing. But that's what happens when you have too many weapons.

I'm not excusing the offense at all. The offense as a whole this year was a joke. But I'm pissed at all the LSU assholes on here who refuse to give a young qb and consider all angles of analysis.

Does Jefferson get ANY blame for the offensive woes? Or since he is a young sophmore with better stats than any other sophmore (other than Hodson), Jefferson is excused from blame.
