I have just never heard it before.

Really odd to see him go from AU QB coach to TE after 1 year as well. Then seemed to stay away from it. If LSU regarded him as highly as they claim why waste him at a spot that LSU never utilized?

Was he coaching QB's all this time as well? Just not in title?

So its not a fair question to ask why a guy touted with such high regards by LSU for developing QBs was coaching our TEs for almost the past decade?

A decade in which we needed the most help at QB development?

How is this not a fair question?

Maybe he should have.

Agreed. It’s odd. Perhaps it was by choice. Perhaos he had a few bad years, got fired and didn’t want or need the pressure anymore.

I don’t know. Like I said, I don’t want him in the position. But the guy has the ability to be successful. Whether he will or not remains to be seen.

Name one that Les Miles has developed...bet you can't. Oh yeah...Jordan Jefferson. And he went on to greatness in the NFL right?

I know when Miles hired him, he was coaching at the HS level in Alabama. I guess nobody wanted him after Tuberville was fired.

What about the obvious answer:

Steve Ensminger. Anyone who remembers the LSU @ Ole Miss game in 77 and the USC game in 79 knows this guy is a man with a plan.

Piss off, Sparky, it’s a legitimate question given the ridiculous press release. If he’s fricking “widely known” in this capacity, it should be an easy and obvious question to answer.

LSU has managed to recruit some great tight ends over his time here. And they always seemed more than ready the one or two times they were called upon.

As the quarterback coach at Auburn, Ensminger helped develop Jason Campbell, who went on to become an NFL first round draft pick. Ha ha just kidding, he was mediocre in 2003 before Al Borges was hired to coach QB and be OC in 2004 where he Actually developed Jason Campbell and improved on every single stat from the year before and went on to have an undefeated season under the direction and playcalling of Borges. But Steve did a great job coaching TE’s that year
